Sorry, but that's just Fugly.

Looks like a mash of:

Grill of IS250
Front of New Camero
Back of Infinity G

I like it, though I didn't get the impression of this from the artistic depiction from a few weeks ago.
Th styling is much more aggressive that any past Accord coupe. Of course, typical Honda will be to tone it down a touch.

from this perspective, everything behind the hood, loooks like a 3 series BMW coupe.....over all it looks pretty good but doesn't bring up the JDM style...
94-97 accords IMO is best lookin' accords....very JDM

i like this one, rims could have been a bit better but they are still pretty good.

If it's FWD then it just kills the sportiness factor.

pickup truck front
a bit like the Scion TC

with a coupe body

interesting.

What's under the hood btw?

It is going be one of those $50K on the road Honda

Looks like they copied the BMW angled streak lines across the body

Looks good.. front end looks like Evo X .. Rumor V6 Turbo

I'll buy one!

I really like it. Looks better than the new Mitsubishi

This is going to sell like hot cakes...

AND this SCREAMS "MOD ME", oh so sexy. :D :D

BTW: Which car on this market hasn't copied cues from other cars? Come on put the old excuse to bed. No car today is original, and no car today doesn't have cues from a competitor.

I'll buy one!

I heard the opposite. Naturally aspirated V6, and turbocharged 4cyl.

I predict we will see the V6 be 3.5L pumping out close to 300HP.
And the 4cyl turbo pumping out close to 200HP with a balanced torque number which Honda engines almost never see.

I don't get that front end at all.

I don't see a point in 300hp V6 and 250hp 4cyl.....it doesn't make any sence, since the power is so close........the V6 will probably be around 300hp, but 4 cyl will probably be close to 200hp @ most i think.

I think your right. I changed it to 200HP. :)

since 4cyl is around 160hp now, the new one would probably be around 180hp.......of course i'am guessing, but V6 with 300hp deffinately sounds reasonable.

Unless its the RDX engine which is 240 horsepower...

Civic Si is 197... so I would assume Accord would be higher (since heavier and up one class)

yeah but RDX is a Turbo, i would doubt they'll do 4cyl turbo on accord because whoever wants more power will just go to V6 of around 300hp.

I don't get that front end at all.

Every new vehicle that has come out of Honda/Acura over the last little while has had very different front clip treatments, maybe they are trying to find out which one people think looks the best (or hate the least) and then create a common theme around that. Of course I could just be giving them too much credit.

No this is what I heard.

4cyl - rumored turbo from the rdx. turbo may or may not be true. Maybe around 170-200HP i predict.
6cyl - vcm cylinder management and better revised vtec. - Maybe close to 300HP to keep up with the Jones.

again, i deffinately agree with a V6 version, but I find it highly doubtful that 4cyl will come with turbo.......this is just my assumption of course.

There is really no need for more horsepower, but they might want more low end torque to get it moving. Not to mention someone driving an accord will be less inclined to rev the heck out of the engine to get the power.

looks like an IS. not a big Honda fan, but should be a nice car

lumlum1013
Jan 8th, 2007, 07:20 PM
if rumor is right that
4cyc. will be turbo charged, i assume they should
make it more than 205hp, since civic's NA engine @ 197, TSX's NA engine @ 205....
y make another 4 cyc turbo charged engine lower than 205hp....
maybe there is 3 model line ups for the accord j/ like
the Mazda 6; 4cyc @ 156hp, V6 @ 212hp, 4cyc turbo @ 270..

so my guess is that if it is a turbo 4 cyclinder accord, it should be around +/-250hp

here is a side profile. I still think that front needs working. But I heard people say Honda can't prevent the front being a "wall" because it is there to help reach safety standard in the crash test.

But I am really starting to like the design, probably the most aggressive styled Accord yet. No more conservative-ness.

I don't like how it looks at all, the front looks real ugly. Looks like they snap on the grille from the Element with a touch of Scion Tc. Rear looks like the the Mitsu Galant. They probably just copy the side from the 3-series and stretch it. The Civic coupe look much better IMO. I certainly hope the final product will be better looking than this.

the rear is just ugly, looks like the new civic rear end to me. messed up a perfectly good present design.

Does the front remind anyone else of a Sonata?

I'd hate to think that Honda's taking it's styling queues from Hyundai :|

OMG that looks so nice, that the 2nd time in my life I have said that about Honda.

I think if they came out with that, I would really consider buying it unless it was more then $40k

Uhhh, I think the best selling point of this car is the rear design :D :D :D That's why so many people are complaining about the front only.

It reminds me of a Nissan 350Z.

In either case, I think it looks fantastic. I'd love to be the owner of that car :D

Pretty nice looking IMHO but it will probably cost the same as a current accord coupe or more. The '07 EX V6 MT MSRP is $34,900 ouch!! Since Honda won't budge too much off the MSRP the Altima Coupe is looking better and better to me :)

Well it looks bada**, but I highly doubt the production model will look anything close to that. If it does, good for Honda.

Why does the design seems to mostly integrate the front and rear bumper into the overall style/shape of the vehicle? Why not make the front and rear bumpers more distinct like back in the old days when they had chromed metal bumpers that actually are functional, yet decent looking at the same time? Most vehicles are porkers nowadays anyways, so don't tell me weight is an issue. And what the hell happened to flip up head lights? Some of the most creative thinking and designs come from previous decades, now they're mostly playing it safe.

Everything looks like one big piece of clay moulding more than anything else.

The first pic kinda reminds me of a Aston Martin. I don't know why, but it does. I really like the styling. Sure, it's not a M3, but for a stock Accord this one looks the best so far.
