Excuse me if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with trading in DVD's at BlockBuster? They are offering a minumum of $5 store credit per DVD (for the ones they accept). A store employee told me that this is an excellent promo for the consumer since they often resell the DVD's at equal to or less than $5. Does anyone know how long this promo will last, and if any other promo is on the horizon. Also, are they selective about which DVD's they accept? Is there anything to prevent someone from getting the Walmart bargain bin DVD's for say $2 and trading them in???? Thanks:)

I traded in about $350 worth - $5 for most some went for $8, $10. The only movie they did not take was Run Lola Run (said they had too many)

My buddy (Labi on these forums) traded in ~$450 worth and they took every last one.

Edit: DO NOT try and sell them box-sets.. you will get screwed.

This has been covered in another thread already.

But I did trade in approx $400 worth of dvds. They do a scan on each movie, and I assume if you buy a $2 movie at wal mart, they will not buy it for $5.. certain movies im sure will not work, but you might get lucky with some.

The only thing they rejected was a ps2 game i tried to trade in (fantavision).. its not even worth a $1.. so im not surprised they didnt take it.

In the other thread some one mentioned they do not take music/concert dvds either.
