I'm thinking of installing keyless entry to my 2001 Mazda MPV. How much am i looking to spend on a regular/decent product and professional installation? I don't need any special features, just lock/unlock all 4 doors and maybe panic button just incase if i can't find my car. Not looking for any security/alarm features.

If you got your car done and satisfied please let me know location/price/etc...anywhere within 20min radius from hwy 404/401 is ok. Thanks!

for keyless entry and alarms, its best to get OEM when the car was first purchased.

reason being that most of them already have OEM immobilizer integrated with it, while others have it on keys.

other wise, most other brands can do the job, compustar, alpine, clifford, viper, etc.

but as for after market. you need to find out if your car is equipped with power door locks.

if not, you would need to buy actuators on top of the system for each door you want power equipped. more money if you want central locking system, and OEM looks much better. that i why i recommend OEM if you car is newly purchased

just got a alarm/starter and a starter done on both my cars. Depending on your model, keyless may cost a lot. On my 94 accord, the alarm/starter was installed with keyless. No problems encoutnered

On my 2000 Sienna, the remote starter had no trouble but the keyless entry could not be done. Apparently the computer in the car auto shuts off after 30 seconds. I would have to by modules to bypass that and such so I decided not to worry about it.

If you have any question, call this number and ask for Shawn. 4168819112.

Shawn is a great guy and offers great prices on installs. Mention the Sienna and see if it applies to your car.

If your car has already equipped w/ powerlock.
Adding a keyless entry should be about $100 all inclusive.

However, if need to add extra actuator for non-powerlock doors. That will drive up the cost.

give http://audioheaven.ca/ a call, they reside in Richmond Hill on Highway 7 and Leslie.

I think it's something like $30 per door, and their service is great.

I had a problem with my doors once and they fixed it with ease. They've got warranties with their products too and great customer service, ask for Jeff

If you're looking for a reliable installation shop I would recommend auto-links which is located in Scarborough. I just got a remote starter installed for both my cars as well as my brother for his Prelude, and we are both very satisfied with the quality of work that has been done. I bought my starter from canadian tire, I got the prostart 2-way on sale for 70$ and they installed it 80$ on one car and the other one had a factory security in the key so it was 150$ on the other car but they have many other starters there to choose from but i already got my prostart so they just installed it for me and my brother got a compustar for 220$. I called around many shops, and auto-links gave me the cheapest price. They also spent time to explain all my different options and explain how everything works.
If there is anyone within the surrounding area looking to get something installed I would highly recommend auto-links =) i think the number is 4167518883, ask for john.
