While I was at the mall today, some a.sh.le scraped my car, saw it when I got home. I don't have $500 to pay excess to the insurance. I know I can get some small paint tubes at Cdn Tire. What steps should I take to fix my car please? The scrape is down to the metal.
I'm so angry - my car is less than a month old!! I hope whoever did it, gets his/her punishment !!!!! Like driving into a tree or something ...
Sure ruins one's Christmas.

the same thing happened to me at work 3 deep scrapes on the right fender and 3 X's on my hood. I'm considering going though insurance.

Please let us know if you have to pay the excess. After all it's a no-fault thing, right?

its covered under vandalism
if you have a deductable amount, u have to pay it but if the dmg is less than your deductable, pay for it yourself, no need to make a claim against insurance
belair has a $0 deductable and im glad they do since my dads car was hit recently and we didnt have to pay a cent (not at fault either)

Not sure where you live, but I go to a guy named Mike at Paint Repair Depot in Milton ON. He's amazing, he charged me $75 for a large scratch/dent on my 2002 civic where other places were quoting me over $200.
Also on my 2006 Mazda 3 I was hit on my front left panel and had several scratch from my wheel well to about 1/4th of my door and he charged me $150 for that.
The number is 905-876-8918. The only thing is that he is picky abou the cars he'll work on. He prefers year 2000+

if you decide not to go thru insurance, post some pictures so we can see the damage. might be something u could fix yourself... if you aren't scared to try ;)

I always thought matching paint colors on a car was hard and that you shouldn't try to do it yourself. I think my dad tried to do it once and it was pretty noticeable after he was done that he tried to touch up a scratch.
On a side note someone scraped my rear bumper, it sucks because I saw it a couple days after. Maybe if you have some luck doing it yourself I'll try it too! :P

With the car being less than a month old, there is no paint fade, so getting paint matched to the color-code of the car shouldnt be a problem (IE from paintscratch.com... i dont know a canadian alternative).
You may not have to paint if the damage is not huge. It all depends. Rubbing compound or wetsanding does wonders sometimes.
Definitely need pictures ;)

there are 2 really deep scratches on the right fender. I'm not going to bother trying to fix it because its a lease i don't want the dealership to charge me for damage when i have to turn it in.
