Hi,
I just want to know if you guys think there will be deals on men's electric shaver, like philips or wellington ones ? And if so, what do you think will be the best place to buy?
Thanks a lot

If you are interested in the new Philips Clean & Charge shavers keep an eye out at FS or Home Outfitters.

If you're looking to get one now, the Philishave Speed-XL Corded/Cordless Shaver (HQ8170/20) is on sale at both FS and HO.
FS has it for $190 and HO for $160, regular price is $200.
You can pick up a HO flyer and print below and PM with FS.
Lowest price I've seen for one so far thats BNIB and not refurb.
Not sure if they will go any lower for Boxing Day but its always a possibility.

Yeah I think I'll go for a PM from Futureshop... Is it hard to get them to PM, it will be the first time I'm doing that... ?
And I was wondering if I get that extended warranty from futureshop for replacement in case it breaks ?
And can I do that : if it get lower on boxing day, just buy another one and return the one I bought before (without using it before boxing day)?
Thanks

I'm looking for one too!
Does anyone have any cheaper ones to recommend? I want something like this, except on sale: http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6672754&bmUID=1166683354708&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443292427&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true

As far as PM @ FS: I've always had a difficult time, just make sure you take a copy of the flyer when you go in, YMMV.
As for Extended Warranty: Not sure its worth the $40 plus tax FS will charge you for 2 years. The shaver includes a warranty for 2 years.
You have a 60 days no risk trial to use it. If you don't like it you just send it back to Philips (with proof of purchase) and they will refund you the amount paid.
Check the Philips Canada website for more info.

Home Outfitters, I believe all or most of their Philips models are currently still on sale.

Lol, I just went to Home Outfitters, called my girlfriend to tell her that I was buying one, she told me "NO! wait after christmas!" I wonder what she bought me...
And by the way, all philips have 40$ instant rebate at Home Outfitters + you get a 20$ gift card for every purchase over 50$, so its like a 60$ rebate on all the ones over 50$!
Enjoy!

I just got it for my boyfriend. Came to 183 and change with taxes in. Also, there is a travel case for free... (so, if you price match elsewhere you wont get that) Looks great so far!

Costco has Philips HQ8172 for $109 ($139 - $30 instant rebate).
I think HQ8172 is costco's version of HQ8170. Not sure...

Sorry to bump this thread back to the top but I was shopping for a new shaver this weekend and found the Philishave Speed XL shaver and cleaning/docking station (model: HQ8170CC) at Costco for $139.99.
What's puzzling is that right next to it, they are also selling the stand-alone version (model: HQ8172; no docking station) for exactly the same price! So why would anyone take the stand-alone version and not the one with the cleaning station?
Anyway, the price of the shaver+docking station at The Bay and Zellers is $200 and $229 at Personal Edge, so I think Costco has a pretty good price.

rvs007, the one you mentioned is not available online? Do you have to be a costco member to get one?
Do you think its worth waiting until a deal comes out or buy one of those remington ones?
Also, a general question: relative to a razor blade, does it work well on smooth skin (i.e young lad like myself with not too much growth)

The model with the cleaning system is not listed on Costco.ca. I went to the Woodbine/Hwy. 7 location and they were/are selling just the shaver (model HQ-8172) and the shaver+cleaning system (model HQ-8170CC) both for $139.99. As far as I can tell, the shaver in both packages are identical.
I ended up buying the one that comes with the cleaning system because I would be stupid not to if I am paying the same price. I'm not sure if this is a pricing error on Costco's part either. It seem the regular price for the shaver+cleaning system is at least $200.
