asian mutual funds

i'm a newbie investor here. what's the opinion on buying asian mutual funds? particularly china?

i am a n00b too, in fact i m looking into these funds too
and i will answer in all lower case

almost all the china funds you can buy here are invested into stocks based in south china, which doesn't represent the economy of the great china. the majority of the growth of china is led by places in the north say shanghai, beijing and places around them. so when u buy china funds here, make sure you are aware of what parts of china your money is going to.

and... to my opinion
the economy of a demacrotic(sp) place like HK is more fragile than the mainland, so be aware of how big a portion in the porfolio actually invests in hk.
