I recently purchesed a new cell phone from Best Buy and am wondering if I should get a PSP (Best Buy's extended warrenty) for it (have ~30 days to decide).

If I drop the phone and it gets broken would this be covered? Any cosmetic damage covered? It has a 1 year warrenty with Nokia but I was wondering if the PSP would cover anything extra.

It's around $30 for 2 year PSP, any thoughts on if it would be worth it?

I have worked for both bestbuy and futureshop so i can easily answer your questions,
1)If I drop the phone and it gets broken would this be covered? No, Manufacturers defect/malfunction only
2)Any cosmetic damage covered? No, normal wear and tear is not covered
It has a 1 year warrenty with Nokia but I was wondering if the PSP would cover anything extra.
Yes, the PSP does cover more than just the manufacturers warranty (and for longer) here is a link to the bestbuy PSP page http://www.bestbuy.ca/helpsection/EN/psp.asp?pspID=1&logon=&langid=EN
usually cell phones are fast changing technology... usually far outdated in two years... so why you'd want a two year old phone being fixed might be a good question too.

Thanks for this link. It says "A Best Buy Performance Service Plan (PSP) ensures the long-lasting enjoyment of your purchase with comprehensive coverage from the day you buy it".

I'm picking up a laptop from BB today, planning to pay with VISA. Manufacturer warranty + Visa one year should give me 2 years coverage. So, my question is, can I go one week before the 2 years is up, and buy the BB PSP to cover me for another 2 years?

That way, I won't be paying twice for the coverage during the 1st 2 years.

No, you only have 30 days from the time you purchase the laptop to add a PSP to it (and also have 30 days to return a PSP if you but it with one). I believe your product warranty starts after the PSP expires but I could be wrong.

I also purchased my phone with visa so I guess I have a 2 year warranty with Nokia.

laptops are 14 days. To buy PSP and to return anything. However, I would imagine within the 30 days no one is going to tell you you can't add a warranty.

Chances are that they will let you add it... but you will have to bring your laptop into bestbuy, have it inspected, do a refund, and repurchase the laptop again with the PSP.

When proper procedure is taken yes, that is accurate. Serial numbers being the most important here.
