well my computer has a virus/trojan, except nothing i have is actually detecting it, but i know its got something, its totally killing my 1gig of mem, even when i have nothing running my commit charge is almost maxed out.

once i open a program its slow as hell, or i can run more then 2-3 IE windows at a time without a low memory warning coming up.

also, when i press alt+ctrl+del, it shoes 3 or 4 internet explorers running, even when i have nothing going, when itry to shut them down, they reopen immiediately causing me to suspect something, ive got AVG virus and ad-aware, + spyware terminator, and they cant find anything that would be causing this...help!

Best thing to do, IMO:
Boot into safe mode with networking (press F8 at startup).

Run an online virus scan:
www.bitdefender.com
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus.html

If those come up clean, or if the problem persists after running, try removing spyware. Download and run Spybot S&D, Ewido, and CoolWebShredder (do this still in safe mode). A couple of the better (not free) spyware scanners are Spy Sweeper and Spyware Doctor (this one will at least do a scan for free.. but won't remove anything).

nah.... the ABSOLUTE BEST THING to do is download Hiren's Boot CD and restart the computer and use McAfee that is part of the boot cd to scan your drives.. it'll get rid of everything practically since nothing is loaded onto the system thru windows.

Try Prevx.. apparently Dan from Dan's Data had success with that when his computer was infected.

See his blog post:
http://dansdata.blogsome.com/2006/11/25/my-adware-adventure/

and the Prevx site:

nevermind about the exe analysis I did.. was in the wrong windows directory.. but apparently Prevx trial version is good and not limited in any way.

Okay it nice to know that it is not your registry. But wow, typical, running all the useless tasks in the background. In my PC, you probably never find more than five icons on my bottom right hand at a given time.

Note to people: clean up, if you complaint about slow PC.

Note to OP: Based on what you said. You're got spyware/ad-ware infected, at a minimum.

I don't have a clue what that wipedesk thing is but uncheck it using msconfig. Also uncheck the showwnd.exe as well.
What you should check is if you still have this issue in Safe mode.
You have alot of junk but nothing painfully obvious as to the reason why you are getting those iexplore.exe's running.

If I were you, i'd just basically not load anything from the startup group, reboot, and see what happens.

The other point of concern for me is that you have AVG Free as well as Avast installed and running. Having 2 AV running is not the same as having two locks on your door. They will often conflict and cause problems. Decide which one you want to keep (I personally use AVG but you decide which one you like better) and remove the other.
