Couldn't resist, my brother and I traded our XBOX 360. :(
I wanted Blu-ray, he wanted to be able to play Final Fantasy.
Here it is, I just got with the 60GB...the receipt says I have until January 8 to return it or buy Future Shop's PSP Warrany...pretty high compared to XBOX 360. They want $109 for 2-years and $129 for 3. We'll likely pick it up and even split the cost.
It's going through the update right now and I'm looking for the charger for my HP Digicam. It's hooked up using HDMI/Optical on my Sharp LC-37D90 1080p LCD HDTV, I'll post pics later.
Let see your set up.

I'm watching The Devil Wears Prada right now (1080p). Honestly, I'm not trying to hate on BD or anything but the PICTURE QUALITY didn't BLOW ME AWAY like when I got the Toshiba HD-A1 and first loaded Training Day! Prada got great Reviews. I was expecting to rate this a 9/10 instead I'm going with 8's...the Sound is great though 9/10.
Not sure if it's My Settings...am I missing something here, any tips setting the PS3 up?

I've read that the difference between 720p and 1080p is not noticable on TVs under 37".

According to the Sony Blue-ray manual:
In order to fully appreciate the brilliance of Blu-ray, you have to watch it naked. Clothes are inhibitors because they prevent your epidermis from absorbing the goodness of 1080p.

The difference between 720p and 1080p isn't that noticeable regardless of the size of the TV.

Depends on how close you are to the TV

I can't still make up my mind to whether to get a XBOX 360 or a PS3. I only want to play Blue Dragon or Final Fantasy XIII. There's no good games so far on the PS3, yet there is a lack of Japanese published games out on the 360.

Well i had about 5 xbox 360s.... they are great, especially xbox live... however, if you want a ps exclusive title..... its a ps2/3
xbox is the better choice right now
However, back to the original post... one thing i noticed about the ps3, which I think is dumb....
Well, first... did you buy the HDMI cable? You need that for 1080p, second, did you set up 1080p HDMI in video settings.... and then set audio to HMDI in audio settings....
If you make those changes, you have to have your crap cables plugged in also.... so you can switch, once you apply the settings, to accept them.... its weird. 1080p looks amazing on my tv... but then again, so does 1080i and 720p

It's going to cost close to $1000 just to play F1 Champion Edition. PS3 + 2YR warranty + game. Yes, I am literally buying the PS3 for this game, no ifs ands or buts.
So far my Xbox360 is almost $1000 or a little over. Premium + TDU + 2YR warranty was $750, GoW, R6, CoD3, + quick charge, Live Vision. Yeah, it's already over $1000.
Good lord.

I question whether HDDVD or BluRay can really be appreciated on screens under 40". I saw a King Kong HDDVD playing on the XBox 360 w/HDDVD drive at Futureshop the other day, and it was playing on a 32" screen, and I just couldn't help but laugh at it. It didn't look *BAD* or anything, but it just didn't wow me at all. Then I walked down the aisle and saw a Sony setup with an upconverting DVD player playing Moulin Rouge on a 37" TV. It looked just as good King Kong on HDDVD did.

Doesn't distance and lighting factor into seeing the differences between 720p and 1080p?
