Why billion dollar fall?
Why should someone get fired?

This is new tech - there will definitely be stumbles.

That robot has costed over $1 billion developing, thus the "billion dollar fall".

Looks like the back of Asimo head got messed.

Come on it's a joke, lighten up.

I'd love to have one but what purpose are they going to serve? They can't even walk up stairs. I'm sure they don't run that fast if they can run at all. I'd rather have the robot from Rocky VI that brought Paully his cake.

C'mon, who wasnt waiting for that cocky little robot bastard to take a fall.

Not so tough any more are you, Asimo?

The sound upon impact just cracked me (and apparently Asimo) up.

Was the lady instructing Asimo on where to go? Anyone know what she was saying while the guy was trying to cover the robot up with the partition?

$1B to develop doesn't mean that particular unit cost them $1B to build. Thing was probably only a few hundred bucks of materials, parts and labour.. the $1B goes into all the R&D

Thats what he gets for not looking where he's stepping. Stupid robot.

just_For_ipod
Dec 12th, 2006, 11:30 PM
looks like it was a bit to the side of the stairs and just missed the step. Now they go to develop the robot so if it steps in the mid air, STOP, reposition, THEN continue walking up the stairs.

Please I think we all know it's $1B to develop. It's just a figure of speech.

Actually Asimo is able to follow pre-programmed routes or remote control. So someone must have messed up positioning the robot or the stairs.

It shows that it wasn't smart enough to correct itself or notice it was not going to make the next step.

Dec 13th, 2006, 02:46 AM
lol, that would be so funny.
Asimo falls down the stairs, it gets up and starts laughing.
The downside would be the head would still be cracked open because its made of plastic, and I'm sure it would just scare all the kids away.

Dec 13th, 2006, 03:03 AM
don't you get the feeling that asimo is just a kid in a robot suit paid 1 billion to keep the secret? because, this kid must have some concussion;)

idk-bart
Dec 13th, 2006, 04:07 AM
i dont think asimo took a wrong step on the stairs. it looks to me like one of the hydraulics on his leg failed and it couldn't support the weight.

Because it leads to patents and useful patents bring in more money than selling cars ever will.

well it's like saying that it was stupid to make a space ship cuz it crashed on its first flight. does that mean they should just abandon that project all together?

things take time.

WOW!!! $1B for Assmo. That just makes Steve Austin & Jamie Summers so cheap in comparison. You can make over 100 Steve Austins for the price of 1 Assmo.

The funny part is how they quickly pulled out a screen and blocked the robot and turn off the projector that says "Honda - Power of Dreams". Someone will be having nightmares. This is even better than Windows crashing on Bill Gates during his demo.

Like it was an injured human or animal or something... Sounded like an injet printer falling down the stairs with that plastic head of his.
