I know there is a 30 day return policy but does the item have to be brand new condition?
ie. I have a video game (for the nintendo wii) which I have opened. I bought it like 2 days ago and have the receipt. Does anyone know if I can return it since I have removed the plastic wrap around it? (it's from future shop.)
thanks in advance.

If you could exchange games, you could just buy a game, play it for a month and then exchange it for another one. Or, you could easily install/copy a PC game, find a crack and then get an exchange for another one.
That's why you can't exchange games, unless it's defective. Only makes sense or else everyone would be taking advantage of it. You shouldn't buy games unless you know that you want to keep it. Best thing to do now is sell it to EB or something.

why don't people just READ the return policy. all the questions you asked are answered there...unopened returns means just that - unopened!
I agree people don't read...
Due to copyright laws, computer and game console software, music CDs, DVDs and videos in opened packages may only be exchanged for the same item. Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.
and
Computer and Game Console Software, Music CDs, DVDs and Videos - Unopened products may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase and opened products may be exchanged for the same item (no refunds) within 30 days of purchase.

no, ppl read. its just that a lot of ppl are lazy. they would rather spend 2 mins making a thread, and wait 15 mins for someone to tell them the answer rather than spend 30 secs looking up the policy on their receipt or the website.

And I suppose you want someone to hold your hand and walk you through life? Google "best buy Canada return". That takes a mere 10 seconds to type and Google. Another 30 seconds and you have found the information.

If you get so angry replying to these threads just don't bother to enter. That way he can wait longer for an answer and you wont be annoyed. Pretty simple solution.

FS and BB sucks anyway. I tried to exchange an XBOX 360 game cause my 360 wouldn't read it (other games worked fine). The rep tested the game on his own system and it read fine and said that he wouldn't exchange it for me. I told the guy I don't care and demanded an exchange. I said I won't come again if the exhcanged copy didn't work, he said fine then and let me exchange it. So much of a hassle. The disc was in like new scratchless condition. It wasn't like I was exchanging for a new copy cause my disc was totally scratched. Garbage

hmm.. don't you get an exchange for the same title? then couldn't you return that WITHOUT a receipt for store credit? then buy another game? or something like that... they're return policy doesn't state anything about returns with no receipt. what's the case on that?

They READ the return policy alright. They just want some faint hope of be able to return a game that SUCK!
They are way to open the plastic wrapping from games, DVD and CD. That leave no incriminating evidence. But that involve alot of dexterity and patience. ;)

You can return or exchange a CD/DVD/game that's defective, otherwise you can't return it once it's open.
