I know EB Games is not everyone's favourite store, it's not mine either. But I actually found 2 good deals there today.
1. Resident Evil 10th Anniversary Collection for Gamecube: $49.99
-Resident Evil (remake with redone graphics)
-Resident Evil Zero (remake with redone graphics)
-Resident Evil 4 (beautiful 2005 game)
Since RE1 and RE4 are two of the greatest games ever made, this is a good deal. RE1 and RE:Z were out of print and hard to find until now. On the box set it claims it's a Gamestop exclusive, so I guess only EB Games has it in Canada. The games are in a new Players Choice packaging. The set was new and sealed and will probably not be around long. Last chance to pick up some classic Cube games.
Of course, for all you people who just picked up a Wii, these games will work on the Wii too. If you never played the games on the Cube, pick them up, don't miss out. RE4 looks so good and the graphics compare favourably to X360 games (on standard def.)

2. Gamestop Component Cable: $14.99
Supports XBox1, X360, PS2 (and thus PS3)
I cannot find a pic of this cable.
This cable seems to be a decent gauge and thus thick enough to not have much interference. No gold plated connectors but that is common with 3rd party cables, and even the 1st party Nintendo cables. Looks like a good deal for the money, although I haven't tested it yet. Looks thicker than Madcatz, Intec and similar brands. Unfortunately, does not support the Wii. But it supports 4 systems, so for those RFDers with multiple game systems (I know there are a lot of us), good to have a few of these around. Component looks so much better on any system, even the PS2.

Does the component cable support optical output for the XB or XB360?
Thanks!

True, reg. price. But I don't see the RE set falling in price before it disappears from shelves personally. As Gamecube owners know, good game deals are hard to find compared to XBox1 and PS2 games. Whenever I go to stores the Gamecube section seems to keep getting smaller and smaller.

The cable's quite a good deal.
I'm 99% certain that none of the "past gen" consoles support a digital optical cable for audio either through 1st or 3rd party accessories (or directly).

The XBox1 supports optical audio output. I saw a $4.99 S-Video, Optical Audio kit at Factory Direct a few months ago. It was official XBox brand. It might have been called 'Advanced AV Kit' or something. I didn't pick it up though as I prefer component to S-Video and I don't have a receiver to take advantage of optical audio.
This is what i saw actually:

I don't think the Cube supports optical audio in any way, and I'm not sure about the PS2.

It's a shame it has the ugly yellow strip. The DMC box set for the PS2 looks a lot less tacky.

This is true. Plus, they are old games 2003/2003/2005. But for me, it was an exciting find as I have never played the older REs and I was looking for the GC 1st 2 RE games in good shape for a few months now.

This is hardly a deal. IT's the regular price 50$.

This is true, and point taken.
But:
-Show RFDers where one can get these 3 games at this price elsewhere, or anywhere near it, or below. It's the best deal I've seen on these games by far. (Under $17 per game)
-This is a limited time reissue of RE and REZ, AFAIK, which have previously been hard to find
-I think this bundle will sell out before the price can drop below $49.99
Deals are always sort of in the eye of the beholder. If you're a fan of these games, it's a great deal and much cheaper than you can get elsewhere.
If you don't consider these games special it might not seem exciting, and I understand that.

You can get this deal ANYWHERE it's not a deal. period. it's a 3 piece set put out by Capcom not limited edition or anything. It's just a package together of 3 greatest hits titles that they want to dump.
Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero (and 4) are not hard to find whatsoever. They are GREATEST HITS titles for christsake.
So buy it then if you think it'll sell out - it still doesn't make this thread a deal.
It's a non-hard to find product at regular msrp.

It's a non-hard to find product at regular msrp.I agree, this is a stupid bundle. Take the three easiest-to-find RE games, put them in a pack for the same price you could get them individually, and resell. You may not be able to find them all new easily, but I've seen so many copies used that it's ridiculous. I think I saw them all at Walmart last time I was in though.
RE2, RE3, and RE:CV are the ones that had an extremely small print run and are nigh impossible to find at a reasonable price.
It's a lame pack. At least put something in along with it!

Just picked this up at the Oshawa Centre EB... I had to ask the dude behind the counter for it as there was none on the rack of cables... First responce is there is no such thing .. I then explain to him that there is a multi version with component hookup's ..... He goes into back room to look and "low and behold " he emerges with one in his hand ... Claiming it is the last one and he had never seen it before ... LOL ... The box says Mad Catz Universal on it .. it has the 3 differnt ends for ps2, xb and xb360 and the other end is componentt, composite and L & R stero. Looks like a decent cable and the price is smokin hot especially if you have differnt systems.. and a HD TV!!!:D

Tons of these at the EB Rideau. Bought mine a couple of days before this thread: a little pricier than composite cables off eBay. I still like it/them, though.

i agree this is just basically a bundle to make the RE fans feel like they need to have it for part of their "collection", but it's really another way for Nintendo to make $ off of.
for those of you that remember CS's crazy game blowout deal a while back in the summer, i managed to find REZ for only $5. and that was the leftovers. so for those earlybirds who got in the deal, i suspect the other RE series for the GCN were avail. for cheap ($10-15) too...
for RE4, since it's a PC title now, if you don't mind the wait, Zellers/TRU sometimes have BOGO for GCN PC titles, so basically you can get one at $15 (or less)....
so it's possible to get all 3 games for much cheaper than this "collection"... provided you're willing to go hunt for those deals....(oh yeah, and except you don't have that spcl outer box. :) )
It's a lame pack. At least put something in along with it!
i think at least if they made it some "spcl CE set" w/ some bonus/extra stuff in it, then it might be worthwhile buying....

If I'm not mistaken, I believe it has the analog fibre optical cable but not the digital optical one...
