I'm thinking of taking yoga to keep in shape. Does anyone know where i can find yoga places in toronto with reasonable price? Would it make a difference if i just get a dvd and do it at home?
Thanks for any input :)

i've done some classes in TO and you're looking about $15-$20 per session. I would say start with a class so you have a teacher to show you correct technique for the poses. I find i get way more out of a class setting especially the mediations. Are there any offered thru your parks & rec? I found my class in Brampton that way and by far she is the best teacher i have encountered. I do a yoga/pilates fusion class to accelerate any weight loss (not a lot but you do strenghten) but i find the most benefit is the calm/peacefulness i get from the class. It is almost spiritual if you will. And my back aches have improved vastly. Don't worry being a beginner, no one judges you and you don't have to stand on your head like a pretzel :) it all comes to you with time. This is my fourth year and it is something i can see being a lifetime habit.

I bought one of those DVDs and it worked out pretty good. Eventually when you get bored of all the poses you'll want to look for more DVDs and advanced lessons. The only difference I found was that I don't have someone watching me in case I'm doing something wrong, but as long as you're conscious about how you're doing it and just watching to make sure you're doing things correctly, it's great. Also, seeing those ultra limber old hippy dudes wearing tight tights totally freak me out.
