Hello, I'm looking for a Nikon D200 or D80 camera. Does anyone have any advice for where I might get a good price on one? I'll take new, used, and refurb.

Thanks.

Hi there,

I found the best prices on ebay.ca. But some sources are questionable...

Hey there,

I found www.mostlydigital.ca that has a reasonable price for Nikon. Shipping is really cheap as well. They priced it at $1730 with shipping as low as $6.

If you live in Ontario be careful about purchasing items out of province like Alberta. Although the vendor is not obligated to collect PST from you (if they do not have a presence in Ontario and do not collect PST in their primary province of business), you might be held responsible to remit the RST/PST yourself.

The following is a link to a tax guide that has more details regarding goods brought into Ontario:

http://www.trd.fin.gov.on.ca/userfiles/page_attachments/Library/3/Rsie_202.pdf?N_ID=3

Here's a relative snippet from that PDF that outlines my statement above:

"If taxable goods and services are purchased for own use from an out-of-province vendor or
supplier who does not charge and collect RST, the purchaser is required to report and pay the
applicable RST on the total fair value."

I'm no tax expert by any stretch of the imagination. I was just curious about out of province purchases for Ontario residents like myself. I found it hard to believe the government did not account for the potential huge savings that could be had with out of province purchases. If someone out there IS a tax expert and I'm interpreting this wrong please let us know as I would LOVE to save on the taxes.
