I want to get my wife this mixer for XMAS and I am close to 200 point shy.
How can I get 200 points quick so I can order the mixer through Airmiles?

I don't think there's a quick way to get 200 AMs. There are easy ways but not quick ways. It takes weeks for AMs to be credited to you account.

How many AMs does this mixer require? Just took a quick glance at what is available... are you looking at the 3050AM ones? the 4600AM one? Either way, I'm thinking you're better off redeeming your AMs for Roots certificates and sell them off at 20% off face value and go to a store to buy the mixer. It'll probably be cheaper this way too.

Assume you're looking at the 3050AM one and you have 3000AMs. You can redeem your 3000AMs for $480 of Roots certificates. Sell this at 20% off and you will have $384. Now the question is, "Can I buy this same mixer at a store for $384 or less (after tax)? " I don't know a thing about mixers but I'm pretty certain a consumer-level quality kitchen mixer isn't going to cost you more than $384.

Edit: Hmm... just checked out some mixers online and damn! These things are expensive! Although if you have an amerifriend, amazon.com has the mixer for $199.99 USD - $20 rebate.

get your groceries at A&P if there's one close, they usually have bonus airmiles on stuff. Also the liquor store has bonus airmiles on some booze.. and Rona sometimes has bonus airmile deals.
