Hi RFDers,

Now that I have your attention, please comment on this deal:

In next week's future shop flyer (for Nov 10-16/06), last page
has SONY BRAVIA 32" LCD HDTV (Model KLV32S200A) for
$1899.99 - $500 = $1399.99.

Sears also has this for
$1599.99 - $200 = $1399.99

Sears also has Scratch And Save (up to $100), I'm not sure if this
can further reduce the TV on Saturday?

Comments on the deal or on the TV itself are welcomed

I've previously posted this TV's deals in the HBC 15% "error" sale,
and am now also wondering if this TV could be expected to drop
a couple hundred more by or on Boxing Day since it has gone
from $1900 to $1600 to $1400 in a matter of two months?
(This tv was newly released in September 2006! at $1900 MSRP)

Thanks...

Sony just recently brought out the replacement for the Bravia 40" KLV40S200A and Futureshop and Sears was doing the same thing when it came to price, I think if that model is still floating around in stock by boxing day it will be cheaper. IMO

It has an NTSC tuner.

I guess what one-cheap-guy was referring to was the fact that this model only has NTSC tuner as opposed to NTSC+ATSC tuner?

Bear in mind that in most places across Canada, you would require an HDTV terminal from companies like Shaw (West), Rogers (East), Bell (all) to view.
That terminal/receiver would act as the ATSC tuner anyways.

So this TV is still good for anyone using Shaw/Rogers/Bell, etc...

Is that true?

Thanks...

I saw it at a Sears today for $1349.99.

If we add scratch and save up to $100 does it mean this tv
could be bought for as low as $1249.99?

Isn't it an awesome deal?

Yeah, you're right. You miss out on awesome free HDTV over the air (with antennas). I can get CBS, PBS, NBC, CBC, SRC with just rabbit ears. And more to come once stations make the inevitable switch to digital transmission over the air. I'm in Montreal, so Torontonians can probably get more.

But if you're already paying for cable, the lack of an ATSC tuner might not be a big deal as smartcdn mentioned.

Just buy it from Sony Online for 200 more, that way you will get Sony points (160000), which can be use to redeems other sony merchandise: up to 1600 dollars I think because you get a point for every cent that you spend. Therefore, you can get almost 150 movie tickets for cineplex or some other electronics.

LOL  You don't GET 160,000 points by buying the TV. You can BUY the tv with 160,000 points. You have it all reversed... you get 1 point per dollar you spend... and can redeem each point for 1 cent worth of merchandise.

Thank you for clearing that up, I almost peed myself after reading that post. So a $1300 tv will equate to $13 in points?
