Anyone ever take a semester at an American University?

I want to take a summer semester abroad. Actually down below, in florida (FSU). Has anyone here ever taken a semester or a year at a university in the states? How would I go about it? (I know there is still a lot of time till end of this school year) but I want to know the basics of what I have to get done to do it.

And have loads of $$$$$. Our nextdoor neighbor's kid was going to do a semester at FSU this year. They originally told him $20KUS and when it came time to register the price rose to $27.5KUS....

Go abroad if you're going to summer exchange. It makes it worth while since you learn new culture, new language and get away from North America. Florida in the summer will be as hot as here...
