View Full Version : SportsCheck Exchange Policy?

Ok, i received a North Face Ice Storm Parka as a gift from my girlfriend who left the country about a week ago. The one i actually wanted was North Face Ice Parka, but she didnt leave me a receipt. So i walked into Sportscheck asking if i could exchange for another the different model (my model in fact cost 20 bucks more then the one i wanted). And this guy about 24 just tells me (Is it North Face? O then we don't do exchanges on North Face), I really want to get a different model as this jacket cost 400 so i wanna make sure its in fact one that i want. Im not asking for money or anything, i just want a different model
Any ideas? Suggestions?

Return with a Receipt
An original receipt is requested for all exchanges or returns. You will be required to provide your name, telephone number, and postal code for all return or exchange transactions. Within 60days from the date of your purchase, an exchange or return can be made for unwashed / unworn merchandise. All refunds will be made in the same form of payment as the original purchase. If you collected AIR MILES on your purchase, AIR MILES will be returned.
Return with a Gift Receipt
Returns using a gift receipt will be applied to a MERCHANDISE CREDIT card. The gift receipt will help us determine the price your gift giver paid. A gift receipt is documentation of the purchase only, and is not considered an original receipt. You will be required to provide your name, telephone number, and postal code for the transaction.
Return without a Receipt
If you wish to make a return without a receipt, merchandise will be returned at the current selling price and applied to a MERCHANDISE CREDIT card. If the amount of the return is less than $5.00, cash will be refunded. You will be required to provide government issued picture ID and provide your name, telephone number, and postal code for the transaction.

There's no mention with regards to North Face product in their policy. Could be a deviant manager relaying policies to the SA's that are made up.

Alright i guess i should take it back and address them. But this should work with North Face too right? cuz the fact that the entire sportscheck was full of 24 yr old dudes didnt help my case. The guy who just told me that was not even in uniform, didnt look anything like a manager... i left a comment in the sportscheck directing to the stc sportscheck for their terrible customer service. Its not like i was trying to rip them off, i mean North Face jackets hardly go on sale (expensive as they are already)....

Yeah it should, did you yank any of the tags off?
The STC location is pretty lenient, even if you've clearly worn it as long as you have a good excuse and ALL the tags/boxes/labels with the product.

it was brand new, tag is still on it (not that Sportscheck tag though) the official North Face tag. if thats what u mean. But what pissed me off was the fact that this dude not in uniform, just tells me "is it North Face?, No we don't do exchanges for north face, gotta get a receipt" and so i thought maybe it was true. The cashier just nods and agrees with the guy. Now i get home and u guys tell me its possible, so im going to print out a copy of that statement and then shove it to their face.

they dont have a policy stating that you cannot exchange or refund north face, if done it twice with the same jacket, and they didnt say anything just asked why...but not having the reciept might be a problem
