Looking for a MiniPCI wireless card for the HP NC6000 laptop. The laptop only takes specific wireless cards so if anyone has them or has any idea how to remove the restriction, let me know. Anyways, here are the cards that are listed as accessories which will work with the laptop;
HP W500 WLAN 802.11a/b/g Module (part number DR469A or 325525-001)
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG (802.11b/g) (part number PF952AA or 325526-001)
I think other HP ones might work too, not too sure. Will have to test them out before paying for them.
Anyways let me know location for pickup, price and condition. Prefer GTA pickup, but willing it shipped if you have good feedback. Thanks.

i assume that you only need the card right ? what about the wires ? and how much are you looking to spend....since i really have no idea how much is it cost....

Thanks, would probably have to try it in the laptop to see if it works. Laptop is getting shipped at the moment, so when it comes, I'll see if it has the wires. Will let you know. In the mean time....

Wireless card must work with the NC6000 laptop. Most Intel brands don't, only specific ones do. Thanks.

I dont see why any PCMCIA wireless card wouldn't work?
or are you talkin about the internal one?
EDIT:Nevermind i found my answer.
The nc6000 uses an HP W500 wireless mini-PCI card. Don't bother buying the laptop expecting to add your own mini-pci wireless card, as HP (as well as most other companies) will disable wireless support if you don't use a preapproved mini-PCI solution, due to FCC and other governments' regulations. You can of course add a third-party PC Card based solution.

Thanks I have a spare Intel 2100b myself but it won't work, has to be a specific card. Also not looking for the B version, G and above. Thanks.
