Hong Kong, October 20th of 2006 - Lik-Sang.com, leading online retailer for videogame systems, games and cutting-edge gaming gear, was today informed that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited and Sony Computer Entertainment Inc have obtained a judgment in the High Court of London ruling PSP sales of the popular web store to the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA) unlawful.
EDIT: Now Lik-Sang is out of business (http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3901)
Hong Kong, October 24th of 2006 - Lik-Sang.com, the popular gaming retailer from Hong Kong, has today announced that it is forced to close down due to multiple legal actions brought against it by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited and Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Sony claimed that Lik-Sang infringed its trade marks, copyright and registered design rights by selling Sony PSP consoles from Asia to European customers, and have recently obtained a judgment in the High Court of London (England) rendering Lik-Sang's sales of PSP consoles unlawful.

Just out of curiosity, how much more is Europse selling the PSP for than Lik Sang?
I have lost all faith in Sony and hope they crash and burn sometime soon. They are over stretching far too much

sounds like the big boys can't handle some competition... customers are entitled to the best prices they can find...

Great... Now Sony's put Lik-Sang out of business... (http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3901) :|
On another note, Winsunx looks just like Lik-Sang (http://www.winsunx.com/index.php)... Maybe it's another division of the same company.

Probably easiest thing for them to do to get sony off thier back.
I bet they will jsut change the name of the company or start a new company with a new name doing the same thing..minus PSP's.

The PSP thing was because Lik-Sang was selling PSPs to Europe before Sony relesaed the console there. If any of you remember, the PSP was like 8 months late in Europe. Ugh, **** Sony.
Furthermore, Sony have failed to disclose to the London High Court that not only the world wide gaming community in more than 100 countries relied on Lik-Sang for their gaming needs, but also Sony Europe's very own top directors repeatedly got their Sony PSP hard or software imports in nicely packed Lik-Sang parcels with free Lik-Sang Mugs or Lik-Sang Badge Holders, starting just two days after Japan's official release, as early as 14th of December 2004 (more than nine months earlier than the legal action). The list of PSP related Sony Europe orders reads like the who's who of the videogames industry, and includes Ray Maguire (Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Alan Duncan (UK Marketing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Chris Sorrell (Creative Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd), Rob Parkin (Development Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited), just to name a few.

And because it wasn't release in Europe for 8 months...even Sony Directors had to use lik-sang to get their hands on their own product.

If they continued to exist and do business, they'd have to contend and deal with the lawsuits. I'm guessing Lik Sang isn't really big or rich enough to have the money to fight such a legal battle to continue operating so they'll just give Sony what they want and shutdown.

In a statement issued to GamesIndustry.biz, Sony claimed, "Lik-Sang did not contest this case (i.e. they did not turn up and therefore incurred no legal costs). We have been awarded substantial costs against Lik-Sang which have not been paid."
So Lik-Sang owes Sony alot of money, so why work in debt when you can close up shop and call it a day...there was no LikSang could hire and defend lawyers in EACH country as Sony was hitting them right left center in Europe. I'm sure with the same argument they could have gone for North America..and then what?
