What is the best wireless router out there in your guys opinions? I have a DI-624 which plain old sucks. All of a sudden it keeps dropping signals, needs to be rebooted, etc etc.
And I mean "best" in terms of performance, RF signal strength, features, etc...

you don't NEED to... it's still a 54G compatible router, which is perfectly fine (besides there is latency introduced with wireless gaming, as if the internet wasn't bad enough already....)

I have had problems with almost every wireless manufacturer out there. The bottom line, they all work and they all have their quirks.

Just as a general rule of thumb, if you're having connectivity issues wirelessly, turn off the speed enhancement modes. Pre-N routers will usually have "superG" (much like the 108 gaming routers), "Turbo" or "SpeedBoost" on 'em, and may cause weaker signals.

if you are resetting your router everyday (even with 3rd party firmware) then something else is wrong
i've been reading that those 3rd party stuff really helps for p2p, of course d-links "gaming" router is in a different league (performance and price)

Is it possible that your torrent client is filling your router with connection requests? I try to limit any torrent requests. on my linksys. :)
Socom 3 has mic issues with the linksys.
I read that the linksys wrt54gs beats the Linksys pre-N for range. The Netgear and Belkin 802.11n (draft) models comes out ahead of (http://review.zdnet.com/Linksys_WRT300N_router/4505-3319_16-31851121.html) Linksys in range and through put.

Its funny, because my trendnet router works as good as my hacked linksys router. I get constant 700+ download, and 80k upload max with no "restarting issues".
Also no log on online games using CFOSPEED (app) of course.

I have the same inquiry. I always thought Linksys would be the best but after reading things on the Net, I am no longer so certain.
I want to connect a couple of wired computers and one laptop connected wirelessly. I do some P2P from my wired machines but the laptop is unlikely to be used in this fashion.
Any recommendations?
Thanks and I don't mean to hijack the thread.

ok, i didn't know you had 5+ users on this poor router
if they are all using P2P software, NO CONSUMER router will work nicely
your best bet is to build yourself a linux router box (a $299 computer from canada computers will EAT ALL CONSUMER ROUTERS for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then some.)
