I have this weird problem ever since I went nVidia. When I try adjusting resolution in games such as FEAR and Battlefield 2412, the game won't give me an option to choose anything higher than 1152 x 864. I can't figure out what is wrong because my friends were able to run above games at 1280 x 1024. I was able to choose 1280 x 1024 as an option before when I had the X1900xtx.
I tried updating to the latest forceware drivers, unintalled/reinstall monitor drivers and none seems to work.
Below are my specs:
Intel E6600
Asus P5W-DH
OCZ Platinum 2 x 1 GB
BFG 7950 GX2
Dell 2005FPW

Call up nVidia/check their tech support forums?
Sounds like a driver issue of some sort. Are you able to set your desktop resolution to higher then 1152x864? Under display properties, advanced, click on the adapter tab and click the 'List All Modes' button. Are resolutions greater then 1152x864 showing up there?

For 2142, EA capped the resolution for some reason. You can add parameters to the shortcut to get your desired resolution. I can't remember off the top of my head how to do it (something like adding "+szy 1280 +szx 1024") but you can google it.

Yeah, I can manually set it, but Punkbuster sets in and kicks me from games.
I am able to run 1680x1050 at desktop and games like HL2.

I haven't been kicked by manually setting the resolution. Try updating your punkbuster files. There have been comments of players being kicked until they updated pb.
