I'm deciding on trying out VOIP, but first wanted to ask for some opinions.
I was recommend to purchase the LINKSYS PAP 2T- NA version for my ATA adapter, because it allows you to use ANY VOIP provider, not just one specifically, such as VONAGE.

With that said, Canada computers and Best buy offer the same, if not exact same model (please tell me if it's not), but it says it's to be used through VONAGE. See urls.

Can these be unlocked? Is it illegal to unlock them? How do you do it? If you do it, does it work the exact same way as the original unit I posted above because that model is NA which means it's not locked.
Lasltly, because it's an ATA device, when I plug my phone into it, does Caller ID show up still? or because it's analog, it won't? What needs to be done so that I can view it on my caller ID?
