Heard it from a friend saying that PS3 can support 1080p gaming. So can new Dell 2407FPW A03 rev. support PS3's 1080p gaming?

Doesn't the 2407 not have component in? Lucky I have the 2405, looked so nice with my X360.

So it does support? I heard the there's some type of distortion when x360 is running at 1080p on a 2407fpw compared to 2405fpw.

I think I recall reading that the 2407 didn't have as many features as the 2405 did.

The component on the 2407 apparently is shat! I haven't tried hooking it up through that, but through composite, it's blurred and soft as hell.

People say the Xbox360 look great on theirs, however. The PS3 is also connected through DVI/HDMI or whatever, so no worries about the crappy component/composite on the monitor. It's useless and I don't know why Dell included it.

So I'm better off trying to get a 2405fpw instead of a 2407fpw? I have the 1907fp and I like the stand. will my 1907fp able to run ps3?

Just get a DVI-HDMI cable and you are set. You can even get Blu-Ray on it as 2407 supports HDCP.

That's good to know. In terms of connections to 2407fpw for x360 vs. ps3, is the ps3 better since it uses hdmi? As much as i know, I heard xbox vga uses the analog connection. correct me if i'm wrong.

Anyone have experiences watching divx tv shows on their 2407fpw?? I have the 1907fp switching from viewsonic p95F+ and I can see some pixelation already. Will a 24" have more pixelation when playing these compressed videos??

Thanks

my 2405's component picture is pretty sharp.

but...if you use this, how are you going to get sound?

Wouldn't the PS3 have other audio ports as well? It would make sense since they can't expect everybody to have full HDMI support at home.

ohhh...wait, I get it. So you'd just put the audio cables in a separate entity altogether... like a stereo...

Confusing, because according to this article:
http://vissione.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/1080p-for-cheap-dell-2407wfp/
The 2407fpw can do 1080p through DVI, but not 1080i

I have also heard that the ver A01+ does not do 1:1 pixel with 1080p and that it stretches the image.
Anyone here have the 2407 and a PS3 can comment/clerify this?

I'm noticing interlacing with GoW. The back of the case says it's 1080i and LCD monitors are progressive, correct? I don't know if it's a settings problem or what, but GoW exhibits lines sometimes. Comes and goes or may be I only notice it on certain backgrounds.

Connected through HD VGA.

Try changing the sharpness down to 30. The problem is, if you change between inputs, the settings won't save and you'll have to change the sharpness again when you go back to vga(or component).

I'm noticing interlacing with GoW.Funny, I've never noticed it in the least. The worst you get is some tearing if you're using the VGA cable.
