Please give me some advice about where to get and
install a good remote starter for not much fortune in Winnipeg.
My car is a 1998 malibu, auto which does need a sercurity bypass.

Here is a few that I have looked at
I went to both Futureshop and Cdn Tire.
Futureshop has these two

Nustart Remote Control Car Starter (NUS-1000AMF)
http://www.futureshop.ca/multimedia/products/regular/10079779.gif
for $149.99 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10079779&catid=10650&logon=&langid=EN) installed + $90 for the security bypass

Another one is
Viper remote starter (140XV)
http://www.futureshop.ca/multimedia/products/regular/10067173.gif
for $199.99 installed (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10067173&catid=10650#MoreInfo) + $90 for the security bypass.

Canadian Tire ones are
Here: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10067173&catid=10650#MoreInfo

Cost is basicly
The cost of the equipments + $120 installation + $100 bypass.

Can anyone give me some advice choosing one?
Or if you have some better options, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

That's what I got. Works great and made in Canada too. With a bypass from bypasskit.com...parts alone would be more then your canadian tire/FS installed. If you had to buy one from CT/FS, at least get a 2-way paging unit.

You get what you pay for.

how about just install a block heater? more environment friendly and in Toronto (dunno about Winterpeg, MB) you can get a ticket for idling the car.
just my 0.02.

Where would you plug in a block heater at work or at a mall?

Block heater is kind of standard here in winnipeg.
Every car has it, however it is still too cooooooooooooooooold in winter.
Block heater only gives the engine a little protection, you still have to wait in the ice cold car for
5-7 min till it warms up. I am talking about -40 even -50 degree. I just had enough  .
