Good price.
Say, can someone log in with their Educational discount and check the price?

I logged in using my old ID and it's showing as $399 for SFU.
At Futureshop it's $399 so obviously I'm not getting an edu discount anymore :(

I think Apple scrapped the Edu discount on the new iPods.

Wow....and at the beginning of the year, I paid about $380 with taxes for a brand new 30GB one.. :( Wish they had those schemes where you could trade in your Ipod for a newer one. :D

Staples is going back with Apple again, we now have Apple Macbooks but none of these are in-stores (yet).

It's great that Staple doesn't care losing money with the 360 and the iPod and still allow us to use the coupon.

FYI*, the 80GB is almost twice the thickness of the 30GB...

thanks for sharing

*for those that don't need 80GB of storage, but want to get the most expesnive IPOD just b/c you can afford it

Perhaps the only case where "twice the thickness" equates to nearly 3 times as long... playing music, of course.

1.4 vs 1.1 cm is definitely NOT "twice the thickness."

Good deal. Thanks OP!

This deal is nothing new. Couple of weeks, you can use 2 $30 coupons, make it $340. I almost decided to buy it until my underconsciousness reminded me again it is ipod, finally thought overcame impulse.

You really have to be one of those ppl* who can afford the 80GB but never research the player at all They didn't expect the thickness would be different. I know a couple personally & much more when I worked for BestBuy before. Most consumer aren't that bright.

Yea, it is not on paper haha. When you hold and compare both physically, you probably will say "that's like twice as thick". I have a 30GB and the first time I went to BB to see what the 80GB were like that's what I felt.

Keep in mind, it's subjective. I do believe I am one of those ppl* who buy the IPOD just b/c it's an IPOD. It's a warning for those who's like me. 80GB is not the same size as 30GB. It's almost twice as thick.

Doesn't look close to twice as thick to me (30GB on Left, 80GB on Right). Either way, I think these iPods are still thinner than any other MP3 player of similar capacity.

Well, consider that "feel" and "specs" are two different things. I haven't held these before but I can imagine if they are really thicker for the feel.

i think it's just great that stooples almost always has coupons around most of the time (most freq.'ly, the $20off200's)... so basically whenever you have a huge order, you're almost guaranteed to have some coupons avail. for use....

FS/BB OTOH, have only a few of those "10% off coupons" every yr, ... worse is BB, who always makes those coupons online only.

Yup.

What makes this deal is not the fact that Staples has coupons, but the fact that Staples STOCKS the item! Whatever big ticket item that Staples stocks will be a benefit to us and a potential deal as well.

Just like how many people crazed over when Staples carried XBOX360s... it was the fact that they carried it that was the hot deal :P
