Man are the CDMA RAZRs really that expensive?
You can get the GSM Razr brand new with iTunes or MP3s for $200-ish on eBay.

Ya, but then you are stuck with weak Rogers GSM signals and dropped calls. I can't even get a Rogers signal at my house and I live in the GTA.

AFAIK, Rogers has most comprehensive service in Canada. Try and borrow a freinds phone before you commit yourself to Virgin

As a bit of an aside, my sister has a virgin phone already, and wants to upgrade to this. Does she have to pay the full price of the new phone or can she apply the price of her old virgin samsung phone towards the razor?

When you activate a new phone on VM you automatically get $10 of airtime. With a referral code from an existing VM customer, you will get an additional $10 of airtime for a total of $20.

She will have to pay the full price. Could try selling the Samsung. Didn't the Samsung just get released?

Within Virign, yes. Outside, not til 2007. Click the "Free the Numbers" link on their site for more info: http://virginmobile.ca/site/home_en.html

Does she have to pay the full price of the new phone or can she apply the price of her old virgin samsung phone towards the razor?Yes, she buys the phone outright. The point of their pay-as-you-go philosophy is what you see is what you get. No contracts and hidden fees masquerading as "free phones" here.
I beat both of you. I posted it in computers and electronics, because i dont see where the hot deal is.Good point. But the phone is pretty hot.

Checked this phone out at the VM booth in the mall tonight. Looks like any other razr. A nice thing is that it doesn't have a ugly VM logo on it like their other phones.
