Ok hopefully this doesn't turn into a bashing of American cars like usual. Yes I'd prefer an Audi, BMW..blah blah...

If you haven't driven a G6 quite frankly your opinion doesn't mean much, but for those that have I'd love to hear from you.

I just test drove the 2007 G6 GT Sedan and really liked it. Great pep, very good room in the back, dash and controls are appealing and the ride was fairly comfortable. I jumped into a Grand Prix next and didn't have nearly as much fun, the car seems huge although the interior space is the same and it does not have the same kind of pickup.

Anyone that has a G6 let me know the pro's and con's.....regret your decision?

Thanks!!!!

I personally didnt like it, I like the 2007 Accord better. Handleing was okay, but acceleration is really bad with the standard engine, and isnt that good with the V6, Unless you get the 3.9 Engine which is fairly fast. Overwise, cheap interior, and cheap plastics, everything you can expect from GM lol :cheesygri

I didn't really like the rear view. I found it to offer poor vision compared to many other cars...

I have never driven one of these G6's, but they do look nice.
My advice is to look for user ratings for reliability (some other site) and make the decision based on that.
Seems like you really like the car. Don't let others deter you from your opinion, unless there are valid reasons. :)

Here are a few user reviews that might help.

I like the styling and I'm usually not a fan of American designs.

Thanks for the posts so far...I guess I should add this would be a company car....so I don't care about resale, depreciation, reliability...just ride, acceleration, design, etc.

I'm surprised to hear that some find it slow. The GT i test drove today definately had pep....I mean its not a sports car but still 224hp isn't bad for a car of that size. I've been in a Jeep for awhile though so I suppose any car would have more pep.

I'm quite impressed with how the vehicle looks....America pumps out cavaliers, impala's, malibu's, ..ok they are all GM but the designs are so boring the G6 actually doesn't look like a box!

Keep the opinions coming!

yes i have driven it. frankly i say forget the G6 and get the Aura XE. The interior quality is much better than Pontiac with a more tasteful interior vs Pontiacs usual boy-racer styling. the Aura's 3.5 OHV has great pep, its very quiet (more so than the G6 with its use of double paned glass for the front), similarly priced, and has all the ususal list of standard features on the base model (including traction control). since both use the same epsilon chasis, if you're happy with the interior space on the g6 you'll be happy with the room in the Aura. At least have a look and decide for yourself.

The 3.5L engine didn't have 220hp until the 2007 MY, it was 200hp previously.

front and back. I am used to driving an accord and it seemed like views are obstructed ...

The car has nice pep. As others have mentioned the interior is bland and cheap. The door panels mark up easily. The biggest problem I have with the car is it's poor paint job. Do not buy a black G6 because I really think GM put no clear coating on the G6s at the plant and so the car leaves small scratches really easily and coupling that with a black car the scratches become really noticeable. If you get a light coloured car you will be fine and the car is ok, but no Grand Am replacement.

I would hope its no grand am replacement, its actually quite a bit nicer IMO, but the interior is the one spot that hasn't improved.
Its still too easily found on rental lots. The new Sonata is another car that is way too fleeted at almost 50% of its sales being fleet.

I got the 2.4L Ecotec G6 personally fuel economy is okay for a 4 banger but the probelm is the rear as somebody points out its hard to see but if you drive it everyday you get use to it. I personally think the g6 is not a boy ricer style car if you are looking for that go look in the sports compact car area like a Coltbalt SS, Pontiac Pursuit GT, Civic Si, etc, etc !! If you ever want to get a G6 get the coupe!!
