Did you wipe it up right away? If you did that you shouldn't have caused much harm.
When you get back home you can also wash the affected area.

Wipe it down at the station with paper towel and then clean it with detailer spray when you get home.
It doesn't happen to me (what you described) often, but sometimes the metal part of the hose still has gas in it, so when you tip it towards your car, it sloshes out. Now that's annoying.

Yeah i wiped it right away. Not technically wipe but tabbing as i'm affraid to thin the paint.
Then when i get home i pour some water on the area and wipe it off. I plan to wash the car today.
My car was just waxed a week ago with 2 coats of NXT. I hope it will hold up.

should be fine. I've spilled small amounts on my car a few times, I dont even remember if I wiped it off. Anyways, paint is fine right now. Mind you though, my car's not brand new or in fantastic condition as it is, so maybe it's just not noticable.

I have that happened once a long while. Did nothing and the paint was not discoloured and there is no rust. I just let it evaporate. I bought the van brand new and it was 6 years ago. The color in that area is the same as the other.

happens once a while to me, never bother to wipe it down. Had all our cars brand new, so far none of them seems to be any different with the paint. Like others suggest, if if makes you more comfortable, then give it a wash.

Actually thro my search, experts say DO NOT WIPE IT OFF RIGHT AWAY. But let it EVAPORATE then flush the area with water.
They said if you wipe it off while its there you will thinner the paint or clearcoat. Lucky i just tabbed it with paper towel. It was a small amount so it evaporate in secs tho.
My car is new, and its a sport car >:(

Sad to here this happen on a new sport car. I got one car with nice paint and I wax is every 2 wks and another one that I haven't wax for 8 years. So I don't care on that one and when it spills sometimes, I just used the thing that gas station provide you with to clean your windscreen with and wipe the car body..LOL

Well yeah.. :( I check the paint today, test with water beading. It seems fine, amazing the wax still hold up. It was too cold today so i cant wash it. But i think i will do it once the weather gets better. Put another 2 coats of wax b4 winter.
Lesson learned, DO NOT WIPE IT OFF BUT LET IT EVAPORATE!

Oh My God!!! You sprayed gasoline on car paint! Well, that's it. Your car will start to melt away. It' junk now. Better sell the car now before it completely disappears and you'll find only some seats and a steering wheel left on your driveway one morning.
But seriously. Unless your car's fairly old and uses old paint or if you had it recently painted at cheap body shops, there's nothing to worry about. Bad stuff hits your car all the time while you're driving and some gasoline won't do anything. In fact, when I'm in a jam, I use gasoline to clean tar off of my car. If you're really worried, just hose it off or use the gas station's windshield washer sponge to give it a good scrub.
The UV rays from the sun will do more to dull the paint than some gasoline.

jesus,
it's gas. Probably spill it every time courtesy of crappy shell pumps. Calm yourself, your car won't implode and grow sideburns.

a bit of gas will not damage your paint. I used to do it all the time with my previous car (for some reason, some gas would always spill out just as the pump gun stopped). The paint looked fine and never rusted after years of this happening.

maybe wax that small area again, I doubt it would have done anything but strip some of that wax off. not a big deal.

I usually just clean it right away with water or something. I never though it would be a big deal. it happens to me all the time. no damage on the paint or anything.

Jesus, do you have to call his name?
If you know what gasoline consists of? (not "gas") You will see how harmful it is to your car paint.
were you playing with Mercury when you're a kid?

Never mind the paint. Overfilliing your gas tank can cause possble stalling problems. Has to do with the Charcoal canister in the front of your engine!!!
