Very hot deal on the 7900 GTO in this week's TigerDirect price drops. The EVGA GeForce 7900 GTO / 512MB GDDR3 / SLI / PCI Express / Dual DVI / HDTV / RoHS / Video Card is $259.97 (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=CAqD7bLWUPI&offerid=102400.2512219&type=2&subid=0), brand new, no rebates. NCIX has it for $270 with a $30 rebate and that's the lowest I've seen it. Here's a long FiringSquad review of this card:

Verry hot deal if you're looking for a vid card. If I was buying a card this might almost make me, despite the DX10 switch soon

I bought this card for a system that I'm building for my friend. Since I'm waiting for RAM prices to drop to get the rest of the components, I threw it in my system, which previously had a 7800GT. This thing is fast! A noticeable improvement over the 7800. Note: I do tend to run things in 1600x1200 with AA on, so I don't know if the improvements will be as noticeable in the lower end of the spectrum.

The card looks good too; there's a serious amount of metal on the top of it and heatpipes everywhere.

Personally, I'm waiting for the 8800 series. I had initially thought to get a 7900GTO and do a trade exchange with EVGA but I've read that you get screwed in Canada what with all the extra charges.

its a great price, however TD's ridiculous shipping charges need to be factored in.

And they started charging both GST and PST for shipping to BC as well. When did TD opened up a retail store in BC?

They don't, but who knows, they might have a one-man office in each province just to charge the extra PST

Anyways, I suggest those that want to purchase just PM with NCIX instead. Then, you can try your luck getting an extra $30 rebate plus for non-BCers, save PST as well. ;)
