So i'm thinking of transfering a car my parents got me when I was in HS under my name and insurance. The car hasn't been insured/on the road for about 3 years.

First of I totally have idea what's the difference with this whole full liability, 3rd party, comprehensive etc. terms.

Secondly when i tried to get an online quote it started asking me when did i get my g1, when did i get my g2, when did i get my g, when did i get into an accident etc, i wanna be as honest as possible. would a driving abstract show these things? (g1/g2/g question is hard to remember for me because its been over 8 yrs)

Thirdly what's is the minimum kind of coverage can i get? My car is a 96 Stratus so paying some sort of coverage to replace my car incase of any accidents isn't really too practical.

Can anyone help me with these mind boggling questions. thank you.

Contact the MTO to find out your licensing history. For the quote, the more honest you are, the more accurate the quote will be. When it actually comes time to get insurance, it really doesn't matter if you lie through your teeth, the insurance company can find out everything for themselves, although if you lie they may not even cover you.

As for your other questions, don't worry about those until you decide on an insurance company. Find a quote that's suitable for you, then ask that specific insurance company about the details. They will explain everything to you. If you aren't satisfied once hearing those details, go back to square one and find a new insurance company.

The terms vary from company to company, so we can't properly answer your questions on here.
