Based on the recommendations I read in the following thread (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215512), I decided to take my car to get the brakes inspected and see what needs to be done.
First I had called Ben, and he said he would give me a free estimate. When I visited the place, I then dealt with Louis who told me they do not give free estimates. After several hours, he then inspected my vehicle and gave me a quote of over $700 for brake work.
I then took it to the GM Dealer that I have been dealing with (Foster Buick) and they did the SAME work for $400 out the door.
Not only did I get the work done, and save $300, I got it done knowing I was not getting ripped off. The cost for parts from the dealership were then inflated by over 50% and then given to the customers at Ben Auto. Oh, the $45 brake inspection charge was finally withdrawn after having strong words with Louis.
Bottom line, avoid these crooks and find a better place to get your car done. Although Ben sounds like a nice guy, his practices need to be improved. Anyone who tells me one thing to bring me in and then do a 180 degree switch, should not deserve the business of good folks like ourselves.
