One of the most difficult electrical problems to analyze is the one where some amatuer or "cheap" installer has cut into the bundle of ignition and computer wires to install a stereo, car alarm or, remote starter.
Ask any tech, service manager or dealer mechanic, a unwaranteed OEM (car or equipment) malfunction is just money in the bank for the person who eventually has to repair it. Yes, a bargain off E Bay but, as the Fram man says, you can pay me now or pay me later.
Kidding aside, a remote starter installation is complicated as it as to bypass features in the car (being in park, foot on the brake etc) as well as having to use a dedicated key (sometimes) in proximity to the ignition switch, cutting and splicing many wires, all combines to make it a job for someone who knows what they are doing (also someone who will be around for awhile, in case you need it fixed in a year or two).

lol i hear ya
i see it all the time (dads a mechanic for nissan) chop shop jobs are way too common but we installed both of ours in our maxima's and it wasnt hard at all but to install it on a newer car with all the "extra" computers in the car would be too much of a pain in the ass.

Much harder with a manual (they offer a special kit for it). To start a manual car you need to make sure your clutch is in and your car should be in neutral.
This is one of those jobs you cannot look for CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP stuff. Either do it pro by a pro (spend the money) or DON'T DO IT AT ALL. Remember, there is store bought ground beef served raw or steak tartar. One will make you sick, the other one is delicious. Both are the same food.
