LF: plasma or lcd TV

Can anyone reccomend a good tv at a good price or at least the cheapest tv they know of perhaps at FS or BB.

Specs. 42 inches plasma or lcd
1080P true HD required.

any recomendations? *relatively* cheap.

and finally...go to costco, they have a few under 2k and if you get lucky there may be a coupon with 400 or 500 off the price. They have by far the best return policy as well. If you don't like it in a few months or there is a better deal out there, just return it, no questions asked.

1080p is true HD?

Do some reading on the difference between 1080i and 1080p. Further, a 1080i source can easily be made to look better than 1080p. It's all a matter of the source - both media and equipment.

I agree. I have a panasonic 42" edtv that blowas away most hdtv plasmas.

And if you're expecting to see "1080P true HD" from a 42 inch plasma, you need to go back and do some research homework. :)

well as you can see I'm not too savvy when it comes to televisions.

Anyways, from what I heard, to get the full benefits of a HD DVD or BLU RAY DVD (which I probably won't get for a while, but trying to prepare for the future), you need true HD ie. 1080p.

Do you think HD DVD n BLU RAY won't make a difference on a 1080i and 1080p? Any other information is also apprecaited. thanks.
