I like just about any stand-up comedy, but my favourite comics are Dave Chappelle and Dane Cook. How about you?

There are a lot of "no name" comics out there who are barely known that I've seen and thought they were phenomenal.
Actually, I saw on TV a long time ago some handicaped guys doing standup. Wow, all I can say is this one dude, I wish I could remember his name, was the funniest man I've ever heard. I think he had cerebral palsey, but man could he tell a joke! And there was another guy in a wheel chair that was super funny too. I love standup comedy but it takes a lot for me to actually laugh out loud, but these boys did it for sure!

yeah the 'no-name' ones are always the best because they're not so full of themselves...they don't have big egos because they blew up on one or two jokes (i.e. russell peters, eddie murphy, chris rock, all the big-name comics who started out in clubs)

right now, Lewis Black and Russell Peters. I've seen Lewis Black live and would love to see Russell Peter's show - he's Canadian too so it'd be great to see him become a huge star.

For those that put Dane Cook as a funny standup comedian must be no more than 18 years old. He's a hack so so not funny.
Mitch Hedberg RIP
Chris Rock
old school Eddie Murphy
old school Andrew Dice Clay
Bill Hicks RIP

Why isn't he funny? Because you say so? Right, grow up.

Yeah, I downloaded Mitch All Together and Strategic Grill Locations. I believe SGL is his earlier work, and you can really tell the difference just in the confidence he has delivering jokes, not to mention he was probably completely baked while recording SGL, hell, he was probably ALWAYS baked...

No because a lot of comics in the comedy circuit say so and he's a hack.

Dane Cook should try writing his own jokes instead of stealing other people's jokes.

Ditto.
Russell Peters is vastly overrated IMO, I watched his DVD the other night and had a few laughs but not many. Perhaps his earlier material was better.
Billy Connolly is probably one of my all time favorites, along with Carlin of course, Dennis Miller back in his heyday. Lewis Black is probably up there too.
I might have though Dane Cook was funnier if I hadn't seen Ike Barinholtz's dead-on impersonation / send-up of him on MadTV :D

I saw an interview with him on CTV. They mentioned how he uses the same jokes over and over again. His excuse was that he's so busy touring that he has no time to write new jokes. Well if you were a decent comic you'd have a writing team that would assist you in coming up with new jokes. All good standup comics have a writing team.
