Gladiator is still the benchmark to beat.

I know there are legions of followers of Frank Millar and think he can do no wrong, but for all its originality, Sin City was a snore for me. This is more to my liking though.

Anyone gonna see it on IMAX? This would probably be a good one to see..
I still have those old Famous Players admit one passes that say nothing about IMAX restrictions so hopefully they let me use them (I last used one with Superman Returns).

I used it for Batman Begins on IMAX but they said no for Superman Returns. I even got the manager down to the kiosk. :mad:

Looks great hopefully it lives up to its hype, I dont want to be dissappointed especially when Im a huge fan of historical books and tales.

yeah.. i've seen my fair share of movies that looked great in the trailer and turned out horrible.

Damned if I could tell what it was about from the trailer....This usually mean "effects movie" to me, with usually not much acting or storyline.

I'll pass ...too much like watching a video game.

Theres reviews on imdb.com. I Don't want to read more, but they say even though it's not a complete version they say it's super ultra ninja uber good.

I can't wait to see Lena Heady.
She looks gorgeous hot in the movie.

I think it'll be better than most of the greek and roman history movies of late such as troy and alexander and kingdom of heaven (yes i know this is a crusade as opposed to greek or roman). but you get my jist of the "timeframe".

I hope it rivals Gladiator though.
Gladiator was totally in its own class that year.
300 may or may not do the same thing.

Special effects, cinematagraphy will easily be a thumbs up.
Now we wait to see if the story lives up to all the action.

It's just a drama effect, Like in Braveheart, witched abused this style of filming.

A lot of the imagery and techniques used are reminiscent of The Cell, Sin City, and Sky Captain.

Still, it looks more interesting than anything else out there at the moment.

I haven't seen The Cell and Sky Captain. I did see Sin City but i don't see the similarity, I do see a comic book look to it, though not as dramatic as Sin.

My friend saw this movie the other night at the pre-release or whatever it's called.

I'm going to the 12:01am show Thursday night(which is tomorrow :)) at the Imax theatre. I can't freaken wait.
