Since you are in Toronto, I HIGHLY recommend that you look for a STB/Stand Alone TVTuner that does what you want, but also can pickup OTA HD channels or QAM. Even on a small LCD thats not widescreen, highdef still looks way better standard-def.

Has anyone heard of tvu player?

My friend told me about it where you don't even need cable but the channels are limiting. I like watching Cartoon Network!! *o*
