I keep getting kicked out of games by Punkbuster with a Corrupted File/Memory error.

I currently use a modified bf2.exe/coredll.dll files and alcohol w/image to load the game w/o the need for a cd. I did some looking around google and it seems to be a widespread problem. From what I've read, punkbuster can boot you out if you have a modified bf2.exe file which I do have, so does anyone have a way around this?

I have also read about the possibilty of bad ram - but this was disproved by people who have run memtests and the other possibility is the use of hacks but many people are reporting they are not using any and still get kicked. So the only logical conclusion I can think of is my modified exe file. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

as far as I understand it, like you suggest, the problem lies with your bf2.exe and punkbuster. Punkbuster will allow read but not write access with the exe.

To be honest, if you werent getting the error message you're getting, you'd be getting the 'this game does not allow players with modified content' error. No way around.

I dont think the issue is with your RAM. As far as my BF2 experiences have taken me, if your problem was with the RAM, it would affect you at the loadup screen, not in game.

Nevermind, I fixed it. Thanks for your help anyways~
I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the game - during which when prompted to reboot my comp at the end of the install, I remembered how I was lazy about doing it and selected to reboot later (since I was downloading something). Anyway, I forgot about rebooting and updated to patch 1.4 and that's when my problems started happening! Even rebooting at that time didn't solve anything either. After reinstalling the game *properly*, I no longer have any problems. Oh plus it's been a while since I played BF2, the no cd exe doesn't work for multiplayer online - using an image with Alcohol is the proper way...
