So nobody watches JERICHO?
http://www.spacecast.com/jericho/images/jericho_header.jpg
JERICHO is a drama about what happens when a nuclear mushroom cloud suddenly appears on the horizon, plunging the residents of a small, peaceful Kansas town into chaos, leaving them completely isolated and wondering if they're the only Americans left alive.
Fear of the unknown propels Jericho into social, psychological and physical mayhem when all communication and power is shut down. The town starts to come apart at the seams as terror, anger and confusion bring out the very worst in some residents.
In this time of crisis, as sensible people become paranoid, personal agendas take over and well-kept secrets threaten to be revealed, some people will find an inner strength they never knew they had and the most unlikely heroes will emerge.

i watch it. still undecided if it will be as good as x-files, 24 (well ok not 24 lol), lost, etc. the 2nd ep had a mysterious ending and all but they're going to need to kick the pace up if its going to hold my interest.

I've seen the first two episodes too, but I undecided as well. Not too sure how well it'll keep peoples' interests. Hopefully it doesn't get quietly canned and leave us hanging ala Invasion (which I liked more thus far).

Good to learn that more people are tuning in:
The good news for TV networks so far this fall: New shows are being sampled. The bad news is that none are breakout hits and few seem to be catching fire.
One surprise has been Jericho, panned by some critics (but not here at The Sun; we had it in our Top-5 new shows). The apocalyptic drama is one of two series that went up in its second week, pulling 11.4 million CBS viewers Wednesday.

the writers have a great hold on the viewer b/c it captures your curiousity and doesnt' give you 'all the info'.

Great premise, idiot writers who are concentrating on making it into a soap opera instead of being about the bloody nuclear events. I would stop watching but they pull you back in with the last 30 seconds...
So lesse, 26 episodes times 30 seconds equals a 13 minute show about nuclear war

Which I of course missed. Was it soap opera-y? They need to make it REALLY good to be in the same time slot as lost. If it keeps going how it is, I don't see it making it past the first season.

I'm still watching the show, but I think I'm going to give up on it. I liked the first 2 or 3 episodes, but it's slowly eroding away to a bunch of contrived situations that require Skeet Ulrich's attention and he goes to save the day. I don't find the characters particularly endearing so if they all die in a nuclear blast, or burn in radioactive rain, I doubt I'll care too much...hell, it might make the show more exciting.

I watch it because of the interesting premise, but it's so poorly written and edited. The music in every scene makes me cringe, someone needs to save the show; hire someone who knows how to direct and/or edit.

last ep (the one about corn) was baddddddd.. ugh..skimmed almost the entire thing too.
JERICHO: FOCUS on the main story..not stupid love drama romance crap on the side..ugh
its pretty low budget.a few camera angle shots make it seem like it was filmed yesterday..and not 'touched up'..
or maybe that's the director setting up the mood 'to be real'..regardless..it comes off as 'cheap' IMO.

I'm thinking the nuke might come as a play. But it will make things complicated. They should really use the tank tho.
Jericho is really underrated. I guess it's because it's CBS. But Survivor and Jericho on Thursdays is not bad. Jericho started out okay, but got a lot better when Hawkins' story finally developed.

-I don't see how XXX's death helps the entire plot/show
sure, it was emotional, but what did it provide/prove? Jericho isn't gonna win from the emotional charge really
-how XXX got shot was really weird too, he was just walking beside the tank, not like he took a bullet for other important characters, which would've been way more dramatic

Just finished watching the first season...I loved the premise of the show and was excited as it went along, but the last few episodes ruined it. It turned from a realistic story of "what if" survival into nonstop shootouts with automatic weapons and a tank, that make even the arsenal from the Matrix look small. And the cliffhanger was just an unnecessarily cruel one. I did like the fact that I would have never predicted who would be dead by the end of the season. I was genuinely surprised.
I'm on the fence as to whether to watch another season if the plot just becomes more convoluted rather than resolved. And all the increasingly complex government hierarchy stuff has been done before in Prison Break and 24. Jericho is not a bad show by any means, I just don't know if I can take another cliffhanger at the end of the next season.

Ratings:
Ho-hum of a
return for CBS's 'Jericho'
Revived drama averages a 2.5 rating in 18-49s
By Toni Fitzgerald
Feb 13, 2008
“Jericho” fans may not have done a good enough job getting the word out about their famously uncanceled show’s return. While last night’s season two premiere fared better than the first-season finale, it was still off from the show’s first-season average and finished second in its new timeslot.
“Jericho” averaged a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating in the 10 p.m. Tuesday slot, according to Nielsen overnights, up 19 percent over last spring’s finale, when it aired at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
But that was still 11 percent off the show’s 2.8 average last season and down 22 percent from a 3.2 for its first-season premiere. “Jericho” finished behind a repeat of NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” in the timeslot, though its rating did remain steady from its first to its second half hour.
The show was revived last spring after its initial cancellation following a campaign by rabid fans. But at the time CBS said its ratings would have to improve to warrant a third season.

I found that Jericho gives you more answers than Prison Break. I still don't even know what the hell is going on with Prison Break. At least in Jericho, we kinda know who are the main force behind the nuclear attacks.
Yes! Too many cliffhanger is a turn off. I guess with a show name Prison Break, something tell me they will be stuck in another prison which is a turn off for me.

The first two episodes I found quite slow, but it really picked up again in the third and fourth episode, with the fourth ending with such a bang. It sucks that there won't be more episodes being filmed despite the writer's block. That means only 7 episodes this season?
Also, I love the music on this show!

How can fans be blame for not getting the word out? How about the 10pm Tuesday timeslot?!?! I am glad there will be some closure to this series though. And I've found a new actor to watch Lennie James (Hawkins). Didn't know he was british! My library had the mini series from BBC Head of the State. Lennie is great in it! It's a political thriller. I'm hoping my library has a few other of his work since they seem to like British shows.

RIP...finally.
Blame it on the poser who leaked the first 3 episodes on the internet...(which was boring as hell).

Well, lets hope the nuclear bomb in the final episode does actually go off...
...right at CBS studios. Or maybe on the set of the next crap reality tv show set for prime time.
There's a reason I don't watch television during the 4pm to 10pm hours anymore, it pretty much sucks.

That was a great last episode. It does leave the series wide open to be ported over to another network if that ever happens.
Most probably the ac tors will have moved onto other series by then.

It was a great episode (really really fast pace, especially compared to Smallville)
This season has been great IMO, every episode is exciting, new, and left me wanting more...
I really hope there's another season - next American Civil War!!!!!!

CBS really did the show a diservice. The second season had great potential, but sucked compared to the first season.
Limited budget resulted in the cast being slashed. Underlying subplots were nonexistent. The shooting locations were cut down tremendously. The awesome soundtrack paired with the first season episodes was gone.
The thing I hated the most was the fast paced action left plot holes so big you could drive a bus thru them. That was the whole concept of the show at first, all the underlying things the town went thru. All that dissapeared.
I'm sick of Skeet Ulrich and his unshaven face and unwashed hair. He showed promise in the end of the first season with flashbacks. When the world started to get put back together in the second season, he continued to look more and more like a hobo. The guy is a great actor, but the character just didn't fit the part.
Some of the best actors from the best parts in the first season were cut out almost entirely. What happened to the kids who saw the nuke in the first episode. That was a chilling scene. How about Mayor Gray Anderson, Gail Green, Skylar Stevens, etc. How did Gray actually deal with his new role? Where did Gail go, other then showing up for a Jake 10 second pep talk? Did Skylar actually find her parents? Did Dale Turner get strung up for bootlegging? And what the heck happened to Thomas Valente and President of the Allied States of America?
Too many loose ends and sloppy scenes...
I'd love to see an HONEST, full scene, 26 episode third season like the writers intended. Anything to make up for this sham of a series ending...
At the very minimum, I'd like to see what the season finale would look like, that was shot if the show was renewed by CBS.
Whatever network picks it up will get an instant online veiwer base of 5 to 15 million people instantly.

I liked the second season, but I doubt it will be back for a third. Just not enough viewers to give it a third chance. As much as we all want to see the next American civil war, I don't think that that plot would have as much pull as the last one did.
What really killed the show was that the first three episodes got leaked a month early. So basically, no one tuned in for the first three episodes on TV and guess what ratings CBS is looking at? I am actually wondering if it was an act of sabotage, because it is very rare that TV episodes get torrented over a month before airing.

Well, I liked the finale. I agree with most of the criticisms of blainehamilton but still am glad I was able to see the series through which isn't too common these days since every other TV series gets cancelled prematurely.
According to Wiki, the producers are in talks with Sci-Fi Channel to bring the series over to them. I hope that goes through; certainly the show will become even more "low budget" on Sci-Fi (just my guess) but if they bring back the good writers from S01, it would more than compensate (apparently S02's 7 episodes were written by new people, not by any of the S01 writers).

I was very impressed that they spent money buying quality graphics for the Airplane scene ... will be missed .. but I got to say Season 2 sucked.

I thought the finale was very well done. Didn't try to do too much. It was rushed obviously but they had to. I think Jericho might do better on another network (with a better timeslot).
I want to see the non-conclusive version of the series finale!

Should be on the DVD set. They did film it so that's a good place to put it.

So there is a chance for another season?
I will be sad if this show is canned, until the next good tv shows up.

It's over (for now anyway) :(
I'm glad that it got renewed for some closure, but this second season was definitely weaker than the first season. More action, less character development and very rushed. But this is understandable and beggars can't be choosers.
I agree with the poster re: Jake and his scruffiness. I thought in the first season, his character was complex, but in this second season he became too one-dimensional and scruffy.

He was scruffy for us female viewers to drool over.:)

I hope Sci-Fi do get it. They did get 6(?) more seasons of SG1 so they could do the same here.
The finally could had been 2 hours(less rushed) but the strike mess things up more. They have a lot of potential for Season 3 the way they ended.
