Hey guys , I broke 2 wheels on my nice office chair today on 2 separate occasions , needless to say the chair isn’t that stable any more , I am wondering if they can be fixed or replaced , as I would like to keep the chair since its very nice and comfortable and has all the adjustments that anyone could ever need.

Thanks

Depending on the type of chair you have you should be able to buy some wheels at your local hardware store. At my work we replace chair wheels all the time....this is something that is quite common.

Thanks Boneca,

At least I know there might be some hope , its weird since this is the first time this happened to my and I have been using office chairs for years... I guess its a sign than I am gaining some serious weight.... By the way when they replace those at work , do you use force to pull them on and off or do they just unscrew off?

Thanks

I bought my replacement wheels at Staples. You can pull the wheels off with a bit of force.

You wouldn't believe how many different type of wheels are out there..when you go shopping you should bring a wheel with you and don't cheap out on them either...otherwise they'll just end up breaking again...(plus it sounds as if you really like your chair)

I don't know where you are, but when I had a similar problem I checked the yellow pages. In calgary there is a place called Caster World. I went there... I was overwhelmed by all that they had. Amazing place really, who knew that there was that many different types of them. I handed them my broken ones and two minutes later walked out with replacements.....

Thanks guys, I temporary fixed the chair for the night and I will get casters (thanks OJAM) for it tomorrow. I dont want to cheap out on casters but on staples website it seems I am looking at 50 bucks at least for a set of casters.... Its like the same price as buying a cheap chair.... so in the rfd spirit I will look for a good deal for casters for my chair ( I actually do love the chair, free gift but very nice chair)
