View Full Version : The Apple warranty/free earphone policy

Not sure why the previous thread was locked, but someone did pose an interesting question so I decided to double check. Yes unfortunately apple does require that 23 if you do not return the defective headphones back in 23 days.

and also, if your past your 6 months of warranty, you have to pay shipping charges.. even if u still have 6 months of warranty left

actually it seems i did not have to pay shipping charges and i have 29 days left in my warranty

i believe u have the additional applecare warranty or the direct manufacturer warranty.. unlike buying it in stores on college/spadina..

thats wierd... they were chargin me $45 to return my broken nano because it was 6 months past the warranty..

and they wanted to charge me for the shipping/handling of earphones as well

edit.. 6 months past since day one of warranty. I have 6 months left

but that was PAST your warranty, the OP still has warranty, maybe I'm not reading it right.

oh sorry.. i meant 6 months from day one has past and i still have 6 months to go.

if you're past the 6 months just go to the apple store and trade in ur broken earphones for new ones and dont pay shipping, i've never done it myself but my friend has done it 5 times already and never had to pay anything

You need to bring your ipod to the store or something?

yea bring your ipod in with the headphones and they'll check to see if you still have warranty on it, if so they'll give you a new pair for your old ones
