Well I finally got my package from UPS. The total damage was $40 on a $80 package from the US. However I was able to call UPS and pay the $40 in advance to save on the $5 COD charge, so all I had to pay was $35. This is where it gets 'weird'.

When the driver dropped off my package he said "you own me some money." I told him to check with their driver hotline as I had already paid the fees 3 days ago. There was also no COD envelope on the box. He still refused to release it and demanded $40. Eventually he gave in and checked with the hotline. I was able to overhear and clearly heard "the pack is clear, release with no COD." He turned around to face me and again requested $40. :| I told him what I had heard and he said "that’s for another package." How could this be true if he only told them one tracking number? I ended up calling UPS myself and told them to tell the driver the news. After about 10 minutes he gave me it. Why would he try to hassle me for the $40 even if the case was on my side? Was he hopeing I was stupid, give him the $40 so he could pocket it? Regardless the driver is an idiot in my books.

Today I also got a letter saying I own $5 for COD. I called them and they refused to remove it. I just called back till I got a good rep and she took care of it. Its not a major problem, but still a major waste of my time.

I will now never use UPS. They hire dishonest drivers and their call centers are filled with crappy reps who cant keep track of anything.

Normally I'd agree, I hate UPs and their gay ass fees.

But yesterday, my teacher ordered me some books. He placed the order between 2 and 3 PM, and shipped it via their regular mail. The website said it would take 6-8 weeks for our shipping method.

Today, a package arrives at 2PM. We crack it open, and voila, the books. With no brokerage fees either (that I'm aware of)

So, from Pennsylvania in the U.S., to our classroom, from the time of ordering, it took about 24 hours.

I'm still amazed it got here so fast. It wasnt even any type of express or priority mail...
