I have a McDonald coupon that says I get a free large sandwich (same one) when I purchase a valid sandwich, med fries, and med. drink.
If I purchase a combo (e.g. Big Mac combo), could I use the coupon to get a free sandwich?
Otherwise if I have to pay normal price for everything, then no point using a coupon lol.

Uhh I'm pretty sure you can use the coupon with a combo unless they've changed things recently.

the mcdonalds around kitchener used to let you use the coupon to get a free sandwich when you buy a combo but they stopped that about a year ago :(

I tried to do this at a McDonald's in Markham and the guy tried to hustle me.
I got the Big Mac Combo and used the coupon to get a crispy chicken sandwich. He said the total was like $8.20 or something like that, and I said WTF how come so much? He starts saying stuff that didn't make sense so I just said whatever.
Then I got the receipt and looked at it. He charged me for each of the combo items individually. I asked why and he gave the same explanation as before which again didn't make any sense, so I said take off the water (I subbed the drink for water) which showed up on the receipt for $2.10. He again starts saying a buch of nonsensical stuff and then finally takes off the water.
I still would've preferred to use it on a combo.

When I used to go to MC Donald... you could use the coupon with a combo, as long as the combo is not from the value menu. That said, I haven't been to a Mc Donald for quite some time now and I don't think they have the value menu anymore.

everytime i use this coupon and order a combo, they end up charging each item separately, so i didn't think the deal was all that great anyway...

isn't your free sandwich supposed to be the same as the one you bought?

I was just gonna make a thread asking about this!!
Ever since this new set of coupons came out, I've tried twice ordering a combo + free sandwich and got denied both times..
I clearly remember this working before no problem, i guess they got even cheaper now!

or at the very least, the lower priced of the two

It doesn't have to be the same, they just say that the free sandwhich has to be of equal or lesser value than the one you pay for. That's the only thing that I understood from what the guy was telling me.

The back of the coupon clearly says...
"On presentation of this coupon, buy any Big Mac.... AT REGULAR PRICE with a medium or large size fries or any salad and get the second same sandwich free."
Combos are already discounted (along with a drink) so it cannot apply to the coupon. You have to pay both items at regular price. And yes, the second free sandwich has to be of equal or lesser value.
so it doesn't matter if you could do it before or not, obviously, they're not letting you do it now. if you find a McDonald's that does it now, you probably got lucky and the cashier didn't notice or is willing to let it slide.

I think about 2 years ago they got rid of the coupons working with combos thing?... Which sucks now... I still remember when all the combos were $3.99 as a regular price...
