I have the following system:

AMD 64 x2 4200+ CPU NOT OVERCLOCKED
Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu CPU Fan. Fan plugged to the board and no fan controller installed (CPU temp limit set to 51 degrees in the BIOS)
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound applied
Antec SLK3000B Case with 1 rear 120mm CPU Fan
Antec True Power 2.0 430 Watt PS
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium board
120 Gig Seagate ATA100 HD
200 Gig Seagate ATA100 HD

My CPU sits at 36 degrees and the motherboard temp is about 43 degrees. Even when pushed, the CPU gets to about 42 degrees and the board at 46 degrees.

Are these temps normal or should I look at more cooling?

You are in acceptable range

You can put an 80mm fan on the front if you want a little more air flow though.

Thats perfectly fine. My processor is overclocked from 2500 to 3200 and my temps are 41cpu/32case idle and hit 52/36 under heavy load. Comp's been fine like this for the last 3years.

Id almost go as far as to say your computer is running on the 'cooler' side :)

Yeah, my temperature's more like Catalystic's (running a Pentium D) with the CPU fan running 100%. The graphics card (with fan on quiet) makes everything about 5C warmer.

My room's warmer than when I was running a P200MHz, that's for sure :).
