The E521 (the bigger one) with 19", X2 3800+ and 2GB. :)

Not bad for $900 even.

They've since changed the systems so you can no longer upgrade the el-cheapo version to anything - you're stuck with the Sempron. :)

Crap!! After already being a week late I called back again - it's so badly backordered it's been pushed back a MONTH!! :mad: :mad:

The only good news is that the service rep says I can speak to a sales rep and get a discount on an existing unit that could arrive sooner.

The 9200C using the core2Duo would be acceptable..... barely. I hate low-profile, but unless they're willing (ha!) to super-discount the stupidly-priced 9200, I can't see it happening.

OTOH, the 5150 is end-of-life. We should see its replacement (the 5200) on the website within a couple days. For once a Dell rep knew something other than what's obvious on the webpage! (Canadian rep.)

And once again, the India rep was utterly useless.

Funny. Another call this morning revealed that there's no more backorder and my system ships tomorrow. I asked if she was absolutely certain of this - twice. So I should have by Friday/Monday.
