ive herd alot of complaints about dells warranty process and was wondering if anyone has first hand experience?

i just got off the phone about warranting my laptop and it seemed too easy to be true. aparantly it should take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to get my laptop back. there mailing me a box and everything, pretty much all i have to do is tape the box shut and fill out the mailing address. there paying for shipping both ways. should i count on getting my laptop back within a reasonable period of time or am i in for some surprises?

its only going to newmarket so i personally dont see it taking very long to pop out the dvd-rw and throw a new one back in then mail it back the next day. or is it just going to sit on a huge pile of broken computers for a month before anyone gets a chance to take a look at it?

I've only had to use the Dell warranty once, on my old laptop. The fans were dying and making a grinding sound...I called up Dell and they sent me a box, and I shipped it to them. It came back to me about a week and a half later (Purolator lost it for about 3 days).

Sometimes, if the problem is minor, they'll just ship you the part and you replace it yourself and then mail them back the bad part.
