I am looking for a flash based MP3 player mainly for listening to podcasts. I shouldn't need anything too large (512 MB to 1 GB at most) but the most important feature is that it must allow you to resume from the same point in the MP3 file that you were listening when you turned off the unit or at least provide you with a way to set a mark of some sort so that you can easily jump back to that point. Otherwise it is a bother to have to fast forward 30 or more minutes into a 60 or 120 minute podcast file.

Other features that would be useful would be using AA rather than AAA batteries as well as an SD expansion slot.

Thanks in advance.

I guess iPod Shuffle is out of the question then?

As it doesn't use AA/AAA, nor SD

Well to clarify the key thing is the ability to resume. If it just happens to be expandable and use AA that's all the better. Unfortunately the ability or inability to resume isn't normally clearly stated on the specs.
