I need to replace my existing divx dvd player (RJ Tech) and replace it with another. Which one do people recommend these days?

What's wrong with RJTECH?
Do you need an upconversion or not?

if you dont care for brand names you can go to pacific mall or market village (next door) and get a dvd player in the cd shops. They are arround 100 and play everything, divx and mp4 all international formats too.

The RJtech died on me and it was such a pain. The tray would not open any more so I just gave up on it. A number of times I've had to open up the case to retrieve my DVD because it has such a flimsy tray. I had to remove the power button on the player because it would stick. The remote was crappy and I would have a hard time communicating with the player. On the plus side, it did play everything I threw at it. Upconversion is not needed at this time as I don't have HDTV.

I'm just looking for a reliable player that will play divx/xvid along with the other regular stuff. People use to push the philips and LG (not sure of the models) and I'm wondering if those are still acceptable or has something better come along.

I would if I lived in the GTA. I'm really just looking for a recommendation on a particular model.
