I own the sansa m240.
sansa was on sale for $69.99 at futureshop
http://www.staples.ca/ENG/images/products/ca621173_1_enl.jpg

Some minor negatives
- if you scroll through the menu quick enough, u might hear some skipping in the music. Not that big of a deal.
- the mp3 player seems to decide itself when to go into a hidden economy mode where you have the backlight meant to be on, but it doesn't turn on when it thinks it's low on it's batteries.
- if you turn off the mp3 player and try to turn it back on. You might get a message, low battery powering down. The bad thing is if you had left it on playing the entire time, there'd still be energy to play. Not a problem if you got lots of aaa batteries.

Some positives to mention
-AAA battery, and it's just a simple mp3 player with a good display so it's high on battery life. If you have a usb rechargable mp3 player, that usb plug can break/die and theres no way of charging it up.
-great earphones stock, great radio reception easy use. You can just press left/right more than a second and it will auto detect the next radio station eventually. You can preset all the radio stations you would like, then just keep pressing that top play/pause button to skip to each preset. recording mic works, but it's just not something u would often use and it's not the thing ud use to spy.
-you don't have to take it out of your pocket and look at it or something if you want to change something like the volume.

Hmm let me see......

I used to have a mpio fg100 128mb mp3 player (the one that looks like a boom box) untill i lost it......Ow well i only paid $40 for it,but it was one of my fav's

I Found a mercury 256mb mp3 player which i hated cuz you couldnt even have folders, so i soon gave it to my mom :)

I bought a psp and then later bought a 4gb memory stick, but i found it a real pain for just using it for music cuz of its size, so now its mainly for only long trips along with movies and games.

Currently i got my fav which is a creative zen vision M 30gb and im using it everyday. Also bought a BSE and a silicone case from ebay.

Went though a couple well but i've tried many more such as ipods etc, and still my favorites are the zen vision m for hard drive and for flash its the fg100/ipod nano :)

I have an old Creative 512MB Zen Nano thing. It's flash-based and tiny.

I think speding anything over $100 is a waste because I carry my laptop with me everywhere. I have the Seagate 160GB Momentus 5400.3 hard drive in my laptop, so all movies and music are with me anyway.

Not only that, I use the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS PCMCIA sound card in my laptop, so the sound is also superior to any MP3 player output. :)

mp3 players went through in the past 2 years

-ipod 3rd gen 15gb (lasted 6months, staticky sound)
-ipod nano 4gb (black) 1st gen/first shipment (lasted 1 week, week bass/ battery)
-samsung yp-t6 1gb (lasted 1year 1month, joystick broke)
-samsung z5 2gb (sold after 2 months, amazing sound quality)

currently using the iriver clix and am amazed by the interface, and capabilities of the system. 2gb is enough for a day of music and video where video compression is at a good ratio even at 15fps (45min = 70mb) unlike competitors, and the 2.2" screen is supersharp.

I never bought any MP3 players...I got my iPod Shuffle 512MB from TD Canada Trust...

100 songs are more than enough for me...

100 songs X 5 min per song = 500 min = 8 hours of enjoyment :)

I don't understand why people would want buy a MP3 player with more than 1 GB of data, do they really have that much time to spare?

mp3, pictures, video (so I can watch some Daria or Simpsons), FM tuner, and flash games for when I get bored.

Great sound with 5 individually band adjustable equalizer, and SRS multiple adjustmrnts.

Plus easy to operate, and it just looks slick and futuristic with no controls on the face.

Also, my mp3 player is a few years old and freakin huge compared to a modern one, using a 1gig CF card now:
