OK cell phones are not my expertise, so here is my question.....
we just upgraded two new phones on our family plan from Rogers and they came with their own new sim card each. Now I already put our old sim cards in from the old phones; so what do I do with the new sealed sim cards they sent with the new phones? can they be used by others? Can they be sold and if so how much are they worth?
thanks in advance.....

Actually I'm pretty sure they are tied to the account, so selling them couldn't work.... I could be wrong though....

ya man, be carefull, if the SIMS are tagged/flagged to your account, then you cvant sell them, if u do, people will come afer you. was the HUP sent to your house via mail or did u do it inthe store?

they were sent via mail and the two sim cards are sealed in pouch at the bottom of the phone box.

most likely theyre tagged/flagged and can only be activated on your Ban. if someone else would try to swap or activate them, they will get an error message stating the sim has already been activated and will come after you for their $25 bucks back.

I don't think so
I think any sealed SIM card is safe bet to sell (I have sold a few, and replies above confirmed as well)
opened SIM cards are most likely not

well it doesn't matter if it's opened or not, because they still can record the sim # through the clear plastic. AND they do record the sim# but I'm pretty sure someone else will be able to use it.

Well, I actually tried activating a SIM once that my friend received via his phone HUP and it wouldnt work, even at the store the rogers rep could not do it via sales central nor if he called it in, it would not go through, plus this has been discussed to death on hofo especially since the people who should get credit for telling this on hofo is the actual Rogers store employees..
Well maybe you got lucky and not every SIM gets Tagged/Flagged, but for the most part, a lot of them WERE and people on hofo were complaining about sims they bought from other people and they wouildnt activate. So just take our advice.
